What is your opinion at standing/dancing at concerts? I've been to dozens and dozens of concerts and I've almost always had floor seats. IMO the whole point of getting those seats is so that I can stand up and dance/cheer/whatever. In all of of my experiences there have only been about two concerts (Neil Diamond and Dolly Parton) that sitting felt appropriate. And even with Neil Diamond I recall us standing for a few songs.
Anyway...I was at a concert yesterday and there was literally a brawl about to break out next to me. A bunch of people were standing and a bunch of people were sitting. The people sitting became quite irate and started screaming and getting up in the face of the 'standers'. Each side said that they had paid for their ticket and they would do what they want.
I don't know....IMO....if you want to sit for the entire show then buy a seat on the second tier where seating is staggered and people are less likely to stand.
Not to mention the fact that if I was the performer I'd be pretty bummed if I looked out and everyone was just sitting on their butts. Get up and move people! Am I in the minority here?
Re: WDYT - Concerts
I agree with you (re. being able to stand/dance, etc.) I do understand that each side pays for their seats, but imo unless there are rules stating otherwise I would fully expect people to stand up and dance.
Then again, I'm the person who I'm pretty sure ruined the concert experience for the people seated behind us at our last concert
They did not complain, but they looked ticked off the whole time.
Im with you 100%. I love to dance, so if someone at a concert tried telling me to sit down, you had better be prepared to make me, and then be prepared for the consequences. I went to the Sugarland concert at the State Fair this yr and there was a family of older individuals behind me who sat and after like 3 songs I apologized to them and told them "Im a dancing machine. I just cant keep my feet still" They said it was fine and offered to take a pic of my friend and I.
If youre gunna sit, know that your view will be blocked, especially on the ground level!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I could have written this post myself. Particularly after the Eric Church / Toby Keith concert this spring.
Cliff Notes Recap: The Turning Stone is the WORST concert venue... ever. They are seriously anti-fun.
I am a huge country music fan and, dammittt, if I am paying $80-90 for a ticket, I want to have a rocking good time. Singing, dancing, standing, clapping, screaming like a banshee when a great song comes up. Yep. I'm THAT girl.
If you so much as do anything more than a polite *golf clap* in between songs, you are asked to go to the back. I gladly gave up my $80 seat and stood in the back through the entire concert... dancing, singing, clapping and had a blast. It still pisses me off to this day how they run that venue.
I sent a flaming email to their eintertainment department after the concert. No response. I also wanted to send an apology email to Eric Church... I thought he rocked and, like OP said, I would hate to look out in the crowd and see a bunch of old farts sitting on their butts obviously not into your performance.
Sorry... that rant got violent. lol. Can you tell the topic gets me all hot and bothered? Glad I'm not the only one.
