For a 2nd birthday party this afternoon, I chose the Red Riding Hood cape from Little Things to Sew (http://www.amazon.com/Oliver-Little-Things-Sew-Accessories/dp/1584799102/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top).
I love the end result. It is adorable and classic and as much as my daughter loved modeling it for photos, I'll be making one for her for Christmas.
But pieces were a 1/4 in short here and there and pattern markings were close to matching up, but didn't quite make it. And then there was the hood center that was 5/8" short and required a rework on my pattern piece I traced and a recut of the fabric. But overall, it was easy to put together. I'm glad this wasn't my first project though. I hope the rest of the patterns aren't like that.
I used a polyester velourish for the outside and polka dot quilting cotton for the lining. MH made the covered button for it when I was running out of time.

Re: AW: Red Riding Hood Cape
So sweet- I love your little redhead in it. I bet a pretty green or navy blue would be amazing on her, too.
It's on my list for sewing before Christmas- I just have to find the right fabric!
BTW- Liesl is really great about responding to problems people have on her message board- maybe the flickr group, too.

Very cute cape
I have read a few reviews of the pattern and did not see any mention of errors, but like cmeon said, they are very receptive to feedback. If there are errors in the pattern, I suggest posting it to their forum so that they can look into it.

I posted on the forum. In looking for reviews, I didn't find many of the smaller size. But I double checked and double checked and it just wasn't quite right. Thanks for the advice.
ETA: Clip the curve and it should resolve the issue. I'm an idiot.

Not even close! Hey...you got a personal response from Liesl herself--impressive!
