Amanda Knox aquittal

Not quite Entertainment news, but I watched this story recently on TV, it might have been one of those E! True stories.  I'm surprised she was acquitted.. I don't know what the process is but things seemed pretty dismal when I saw the TV special.

I did feel like she seemed innocent; if anything it was amazing how little time she was allowed on the phone with her family.

Re: Amanda Knox aquittal

  • I was surprised but pleasantly so! I don't believe she did it.
  • I am not surprised she was acquitted since they had little to no evidence against her. I was surprised she was convicted in the first place.
  • i dont know too much about this, but wasnt her dna at the scene of the crime?

The crime was at her house and I believe they found DNA on the handle of a knife in the kitchen, but could not prove that knife was the one used. I'm not 100% on this though. I watched a few 20/20 specials on it, but did not follow the case closely.

Yes, it was at her house. And yes, the DNA was on the knife. I'm not sure about whether or not they were sure if it was they one they used.

I am glad she was acquitted. I don't think she was guilty.

  • Her DNA was on the knife, but it was in her apartment, so of course it was on it. Even so, I don't think there was enough evidence to link her to the murder. I was surprised she was convicted the first time.

  • I watched an updated special on Friday night about it and the "Amanda DNA" that was found on the knife was now thought to actually be rye bread. Not a clue how you could get those two things mixed up.

That's what I was going to say. I'm pretty sure there was not a single piece of real, tangible evidence against her. Here's an article from CNN about it.

  • I didn't follow the trial closely but watched today as she was set free. I got chills. I think she is innocent.

  • I also believe she is innocent.  A lot of their reasons for linking her to the murder were her "aloof" behaviors and disconnection during the first few weeks of investigation.  As from what I remember, though, she was pretty heavy into smoking pot/partying which could attribute to her "odd" behavior.  I'm happy she's finally free and on her way back to the US.  I don't think she had anything to do with it.
