Ethan Allen design services?
Anyone used? They offer "free" (to go with their high priced furniture!) services - I do like some of their stuff so might be worth it - but I don't know of anyone there to ask for.

I'm kind of thinking about using the Fluff Your Stuff girls. They charge $200 for a 2 hour consultation, which I think is fairly reasonable.
A friend of mine bought a groupon for the Interior Design Firm. She really liked them and all of the furniture they recommended was from NFM -- which she liked since she had an account with them and buys from there anyways.

We've never used EA's, but we've used Pottery Barn's, and had nothing but great luck. We used them when we lived in Omaha, and have also used them here in DSM already.
Like EA, their services are free...you just have to buy the stuff from them.
I don't have personal experience with Ethan Allen, but my parents just ordered new living room furniture & had an extensive consultation with a designer. I'm not sure who they worked with but they had a great experience...the designer wasn't pushy & was completely open to 1) my mom's ridiculously particular taste & 2) that my dad can make/finish all the coffee/end tables himself.
