Heading out in about an hour to have DD's umbilical hernia looked at. We've been watching it since she was about 6mos old, and were told if it didn't close on its own by the time she was 4, we'd have it surgically corrected. One of the things we had to watch out for was pain, and over the weekend she started complaining about pain in her bellybutton. I don't know whether they'll be referring us back to the pediatric surgeon or sending us to the ER. She's been waking up multiple times a night screaming, incoherent and inconsilable. Fortunately it will still retract with a bit of help, but the concern is whether the intestines may be becoming impacted. Fingers crossed for us ladies! I will update this afternoon.
