Frustrated

Last week I found out that my beta-hcg levels were down to zero. I was under the impression that my period would start soon as they did so. Well after waiting for a week for AF, I finally emailed the doctor today and she said it can take up to a month for AF to start. I am normally not in a rush to get AF but I just really want to move forward. I have to have 2 AFs then I can get my HSG test to determine if my right tube is blocked as result from this ectopic pregnancy. So now more waiting... and avoiding pregnancy...

I am so frickin ready to be pregnant and move forward.... And yet we wait some more.. Crying

Sorry to vent to you girls...

Re: Frustrated

  • I'm so sorry to hear that Cheryl.  They can't/won't give you progesterone to jump start AF?  I've had to do that before.  You are always in my prayers.....I can't wait for the day you have a little one in your arms.

I didnt ask about the progesterone because I know she would say that she wants my body to regulate on its own. My body is in such weird state now, post pregnancy/d and c/ methotrexate that I just need some time to adjust I think.

  • You have every right to be frustrated, and to vent to us. The whole situation is just $hitty and unfair.

  • Just saw this one pinterest, as I was trying to decide just what to say that could possibly make you feel better...

"To be honest with you, I don't have the words to make you feel better, but I do have the arms to give you a hug, ears to listen to whatever you want to talk about, and I have a heart; a heart that's aching to see you smile again."

  • Don't ever be sorry about venting here... we're here when you need us!!  Like the other girls have said, I'm so sorry that you're having to go through with this & that this process just keeps getting longer & longer for you.... you have every right to be frustrated.  I'm still praying for you guys...
  • Big hugs Cheryl. If it helps you any my numbers went down slowly like yours. After I finally hit zero, I think it was another 2-3 weeks before AF showed up. I wish there was something we could do to make it all better for you.
  • **HUGS**

I'm so freakin emotional right now I almost started crying.  I hate that you're still dealing with this after all you've been through.  Vent away, my dear.

  • I don'y know when my hcg was 0, but I'm assuming after my D&C since that's when they evacuated the source...it was a little over 4 weeks for me to get my period.  I was never so happy to get a period before.

I'm learning TTC sucks.   I wanted it to be a fun relaxing experience, but since having the miscarriage, now I want to know that my body can stay pregnant and I can't know that until we get pregnant again.  Like brooke said before, having a miscarriage changes everything with a future pregnancy.  I find myself counting down the days until my period "should" be here and I never wanted to find myself here.  I'm not charting and we're not having more sex than usual because I still want it to be fun for us.  I'm bad with obessing about things and I'm really trying hard not to obess about TTC.  I think it's part of my personality that helped me make it though med school, but in times like this, it can be frustating.  However, it seems that I've taken your post to vent and I apologize.

Did you OB/RE give you a basis for waiting 2 more cycles?  I mean, what would be so bad if you got pregnant without evaluating your tube?  If you get pregnant, that means at least one tube is working.

The basis for waiting 2 cycles is twofold. One being giving my body a rest since it just went through an ectopic pregnancy and second for my body to regulate on its own.

With everything that has happened to me in the last 4 months (chemical pregnancy and ectopic) the RE is very suspicious of my fallopian tubes. She thinks the blink of a pregnancy had in April was also ectopic.  During my initial HSG they visualized dye in the left tube and in my uterine cavity but never in my right tube. According to the report the right side was either occluded or in spasm during the test. All this time they assumed the uterine septum  was the reason that the right tube was never visualized with dye but now they want to reevaluate. With this ectopic pregnancy now being on the right side, she has a feeling it may be partially blocked. Also, she wants us  to avoid pregnancy because she doesnt want us to have to go through another ectopic pregnancy incase the right side is partially blocked.
