Scary movies!

October is my favorite time of year for creepy movies!  Which ones are you looking forward to??

I already have the DVR set for Nosferatu at 4:45 am tonight!  Also looking forward to Amityville Horror (gotta keep checking for it on AMC) and the Vincent Price flicks on TCM! I'm even going to keep my eyes open for the original Exorcist b'cuz I've never seen it.

Re: Scary movies!

  • I watch Poltergist every year. Still scary as ever.

  • The original Halloween movie-still scares the crap out of me. My friend sets her ring tone to the Halloween movie music just to bug me.
  • i love michael myers- so i watch halloween every year!
  • I absolutely love the Scream trilogy (now tetralogy!). Can't wait to watch all 4 films again.

I think that the Exorcist is the scariest movie I have ever seen...especially the version where Regan does the backbend spider walk thing. It gives me chills just thinking about it.

  • Psycho (the original) is the scariest movie I've ever seen. I have to cover my eyes every time!
  • I love all of the classics!  MH has never seen The Excorcist, so we are going to watch that sometime soon.  The day I pulled out all of our Halloween Decor, I spent my afternoon watching Death of a Ghost Hunter, which was not bad for a newer horror movie.

I LOVE all the Screams too!

  • I'm one of those weird people that enjoys the thrill of the scare--but then gets scared.  My Dh just doesn't like horror movies at all, so that bums me out.

I'm actually looking forward to something different this year--since I have Sirius radio, each Halloween, they do some radio specials--they are doing a marathon of old Vincent Price horror stories, and some others (on the Radio Classics channel.)  That way, I can be in the privacy of my own car.

  • Halloween is my favourite scary movie, but it also scares the crap out of me.  I agree with pp that the music for Halloween is really creepy, and freaks me out when I hear it.

I also found The Ring to be really scary.

  • My faves are Psycho, Halloween, Blair Witch Project, The Thing (1981), the first 2 Alien films, and last but not least, the 1922 Nosferatu, still the best vampire film ever made.
