I started a part time position about 4 weeks ago. During the interview I was told it would be a p/t position for a few months, with the possibility of full time once some logistics were worked out and once we knew I worked well together with the group and the boss liked my work. Now that I have been there a month, I really am not enjoying the work (althought the people are really nice). I also have quite a few other things going on, going back to school, continuing in my other p/t position, etc. It has turned out to be more than I can really handle. I want to let them know it'll not really work out for me, but without sounding unprofessional or disrespectful to their time.
TIA.

Actually, I really don't want to stay. It is getting tough managing everything I have going on. In hindsight, I should not have accepted the position, but at the time I expected to be able to manage it all. I feel terrible for putting them (and myself) in this situation.
Do you need the income from the second job? If not, then give your two weeks written notice and move on. If you need the second income, keep this job until you find another less demanding p/t position somewhere else.
Given your response, I agree with this approach.
