A friend just asked a random job interview question and it reminded me of one that a co-worker asked during interviews when we were hiring at my old job (we were lucky enough to interview the applicant since we'd be the ones training and working so closely with them- it was a panel interview).
So here's the question:
If you were a vegetable, what one would you be and why?

I would be sweet corn. Everyone loves corn on the cob and it's available in the summer and summer is my favorite season.
That sounds like such a pageant answer but it's true.
The best answer we got was "tomato, even though it's a technically a fruit, because it's the most versatile".
The job they were interview for was a social work position working with at risk youth in a residential treatment center- most of them placed through the courts under a juvenile delinquent status. You wore many many many hats in the position so it was a great answer. We hired her. We also hired the girl that answered "carrot, because it's orange and its my favorite color".
So we didn't base the hiring off of this question obviously
