Sewing machine luggage for large machine

I have a Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0, which is BIG and will not fit in my old sewing machine luggage case. It is also HEAVY and I am getting tired of hauling it around to classes and to my parents' house to sew. Does anyone know of any luggage that will fit a bigger machine that isn't $200? I'm just not impressed with the Pfaff luggage and it costs so much...was just hoping to find something a little on the cheaper side.

Re: Sewing machine luggage for large machine

  • What are the dimensions of your machine? My luggage seems large... has plenty of room. It was a gift from my MIL, but I'm sure she got it either at JoAnn or Michaels.

  • I have this case in the large, and really like it.  I think the xl is big enough for your machine.

It is very lightweight and rolls really easily.  We used to use all kinds of other rolling cases/crates/whatever for our machines, and I was afraid that this one was going to be too big/bulky, but it is very stable and has worked out well for me.

  • What about a regular piece of rolling luggage? I saw someone once who packed their machine around in a suitcase and padded it with small quilts.

  • I have no idea about luggage. . would it be cheaper/easier to buy a lighter/smaller machine to haul around that would fit in your old case?
  • I have the same question but just for an embroidery machine, so I am curious to see what people come up with.

I have one, but my Pfaff is so much better to sew on, I'd rather haul it. lol

Thanks, girls! I did find out that the sewing machine repair place in the next town over (who has my old sewing machine for repairs) just got in some new luggage and the person said it looked huge. So when I go pick up my machine tomorrow, I'll check it out. If those don't work, I will definitely check out the trolley, thanks BridesMom!
