BabyGirlPokey is here!

Hi!

We had the baby on Sept 26th at 1:50 pm. Of course, it had bumps in the road, but the actual birth was a straight up, uneventful c-section. Our surgery was delayed by an emergency and because of it, our surgeon had to leave and his partner took over. Only I didn't know it until I got into the operating room!! You'd think they would have come in and let me know while I was sitting next door waiting.

So, my new doctor, that I managed to get with only 5 weeks to my due date after my regular doctor left to join a big practice out in the Hamptons, he didn't do the surgery! I knew who his partner was, but I hadn't seen him during this pregnancy.

About 15 years ago I saw a doctor that just wasn't for me. He was very nice, but we was very baby focused. And as a single girl, recently out of college, he wasn't right for me. Well, he is the father and partner of the new doctor that took me on and he ended up doing the surgery! So 15 years later, I ended up with the same doctor that I left for being too baby focused!! LOL!!

Billie Josephine and I are doing well. She weighed in at 6lbs, 12 oz, 19 1/2 inches. She is a little piglet and eating more than anyone expected for such a little thing. We got home on Friday and luckily we have a baby nurse for two weeks, so it is making life so much easier.

LittleP is doing so well with her. He keeps telling everyone that he meets, "I have a baby!" And he is helping me, he helps me do up her diaper, he fetches things when my hands are full, he wants to hold her and kiss her. He sat on the bed with her yesterday morning while I got a blanket for her and made sure she didn't roll away or that the cats didn't come up and bother her. Luckily for the cats they didn't approach, I think LittleP would have socked a cat in the kisser, he was taking his job very seriously.

I am not sure how alert I'll be when the nurse leaves and I have to do the overnights, but for now, life is okay.
