Turn on red, allowed or not?
I am getting conflicting information, so I thought I would just ask you all. Is it ok to turn on red in MA after a complete stop?

Yes I have seen those a couple of times as well. I hate when people can blatantly go and don't. I rarely use my horn, but lately I feel like I have been beeping it all the time. People who don't go right on red, people who don't go when the light is green. Ugh, so irritating. It of course always happens when I am running late.
Boston Baker, I also agree with you there. They put the signs in the most inconvenient and hidden places.
It's the same way in PA. But when I was in Southbridge I swear there was a sign that said something along the lines of according to MA law, it is illegal to turn on red. Must have either been a fluke or I misread it.
So, the question remains to me: are there states that really don't allow turning on red?
Yes, I'm pretty sure there are (or were...it's possible they've changed the laws).
Technically I think you can also make a left turn down a one-way street on red here.
Since when does anyone in MA stop at red lights anyhow?
haha this is what I was thinking - guaranteed at least 2-3 people go after a light as turned red and more often than not I see people whip right on red if there's even the slightest bit of room for them!
and they definitely like to hide the "no turn on red" signs. We had an intersection where it was like one light post BEHIND the stop line, so if you didn't see it approaching the intersection, you weren't going to know. Luckily, they've since taken the sign down.
I did notice that MA drivers are a little more aggressive or something. Not quite sure how to word it. There is a intersection in Worcester that seems like a freaking free for all. I will be avoiding that one like the plague. And I have lived in Washington DC and Philadelphia and the traffic in Boston on a Saturday was insane.

I was going to ask the same thing. I avoid going through that part of Worcester like the plague. It was bad 10 yrs ago when I was in college and it's just as bad now.
