any mo co ladies need a house sitter this month?

DH and i need to get our floors redone and are at a lost as to where to go while this is being done. a hotel is the obvious choice but this project is already eating into money earmarked for other things and i don't want to blow cash on a hotel.

our dog can stay at a friends in VA so it would just be us. the floor people are pretty flexible on their schedule and we'd like to get it done this month.

  • We're traveled out.... or, I'd offer.  Heck, if our guest room wasn't piled to the ceiling with undone craft projects and dirty laundry, I'd offer that.  LOL.
  • How long will the project take?

    three days max...could be two

  • Double check with your contractor.  Ours took two days to do the actual floor (one day sanding/staining the other sealing.  BUT, we could not walk on it for two days afterwards!

This for us too. Well, we could walk on it in sock feet, but they really wanted us to stay off it. And none of the furniture or area rugs could go back until 2 more days of "curing".

And it stunk to high heaven for a while afterwards. I'd highly recommend (if you feel safe doing so) leaving as many windows open round the clock as you can to help it air out.

AG Floors? Yup, that is who we used. And it may not be totally his fault - they told us 3 days, and then once they had started we got the story not to put furniture back once we had access to the house. But the stink no one warned us about, so I don't want you to be surprised. Although I was 8 months pregnant when we did ours, so there was less tolerance for breathing chemicals than usual. :)

  • If you arent allergic to cats you could live in our basement.  We do not have a renter at this time so you'd have a bedroom, living room, and full bath to yourself.
