MrsBini

I don't know how to PM, so this is for all the world to see. What do you think you'll need for the baby?  We just moved back, living next to your old hometown, and have a couple of things, like a tub, a sponge, and a bathing ramp that we can give you.  We have a girl, so most of the clothes are girly, so that may not help.  If you don't get everything you need right away, hit up the yard sales, especially in Wellesley.  My Mom got us a Fisher Price cradle swing, a Fisher Price Farm Animal Chair type thing that I call the Psycho Chair, stuff like that, all for 10 bucks each.  Do you need a stroller?  I think we may have an extra one, but I have to double check (Yard sales!)

I'm sure you'll have a shower, I hope you do!  Maybe this will all be a moot point, but let me know if you need anything, I'll check to see if we have it and would be glad to pass it along to you. :)

Re: MrsBini

  • Thanks so much for the offer! Between you and a few others I might not need that shower, lol :) That's a great idea about the yard sales.  There are certainly some wealthy towns around here that I should cruise around looking for deals--from what I've seen the people in the town where I currently live don't tend to have particularly nice stuff, so I've been really disappointed by the sales I've visited nearby.

Question: what is a bath ramp?

  • I'm assuming a bath ramp is like the little ergonomic bath seats that are basically just a little seat you lay them on, slightly inclined, to bathe them in the tub vs. one of those giant eurobaths that are so popular here. We used one with both kids.

I can't believe I didn't think to tell you about the Drop and Shop. It was just last weekend in Essex and a bunch of my friends sell at it every year. I haven't yet since we'll have more kids and so I save and loan out but don't sell. I've gone a couple times and there are always really good deals on clothes and gear. They happen twice a year. There's usually Moms of Multiples sales happening this time of year, too. Or if any other big mom groups in your area do them. I'll try to find out if there are any more going on in the next couple weeks on the North Shore.

Oh and check our CL, too. We have gotten plenty of baby stuff on there, strollers, changing table, stuff like that.
