I get on the interstate this morning and it is a total parking lot. Of course, I didn't bother to check the traffic before I left for work. Well, you know how it is - there are always those people that drive on the shoulder because they are SO MUCH busier and SO MUCH more important than everyone else that they can't wait patiently in the interstate parking lot like everyone else. Drivesmefreakingcrazy. So this woman is plowing down the shoulder but a truck is behind her - this is a truck that is actually going to the wreck site to help out - so the truck is honking and carrying on and she decides to cut in front of me. I don't think so, sista. I was .4 miles from my house and was 45 minutes into this traffic jam - I honked at her, called her a twatwaffle, honked again (at this point the truck went around her) and she continued to stick the nose of her crappy car in my lane! So I sped up so she couldn't move and went around her. She pulled in behind me.
Traffic continues to creep along and eventually we get to the accident site. Interstate is down to one lane. The car in front of me lets over five cars, I let over multiple cars - the woman behind me - Miss I am so much busier than everyone else I am going to drive on the shoulder - how many cars does she let in? NONE. She gets right up on my bumper so no one can "cut." The guys next to her had their windows down and gave her an earful.
Moral of story: She had Texas plates. I hate Texas.
Re: South side traffic cluster fvck story.
Ugh, I think traffic sucked everywhere today. I had trouble getting up to Edmond today--exceptionally backed up traffic along 44, and then Broadway Extension. Felt bad for those going south on Broadway--multiple accidents.
I really hate people who drive on the shoulder though. Unless someone is dying or about to give birth, you have no excuse. It needs to be used for those trying to get to the accident site, like you said. Unacceptable. Where's a cop when you need one?

I have Texas plates, ha. While I don't drive on the shoulder I am one of those drivers that goes until the very end and jumps in front of a slow moving car, why? Because I am certain there is always someone driving horribly slow.
I have had the same FFFC gripe for the last few months (?) because I get so very tired of people driving as though there is a funeral in front. Another issue I have is when drivers (on the opposite side of the road) pull ALL the way over when an ambulance, police car, or emergency vehicle is on the other side with NO indication that they need your lanes to continue moving on.
I sympathize with your story, I am never a rude driver but at certain points I can be defensive.
Grrrrrrr.
Except Ami. She's the exception.
Traffic like that makes me SO MAD. I could literally feel my heart rate go up as I was reading your story, seriously. I don't cuss very much, but driving in traffic like that brings it out in me like nothing else.
What a dumb@ss.
I've been so frustrated with drivers around here lately. Twice in the last month people in the left turn lane decided they didn't really want to turn and just cut over into the straight lane where I was. Last time I had to swerve into the far right lane to avoid being sideswiped- them going about 15 mph and me at 50, with absolutely nobody behind me. Grrrr.
Though sometimes I wonder what other people say about my driving.
This gets DH and I all sorts of fired up - when someone cuts you off or pulls out in front of you and you are the only car around. Its like, um couldn't you have waited THREE SECONDS and pulled out behind me rather than pulling out in front of me and nearly causing me to run into you??? My guess is that most of the time, they don't even look.
