  • I never used to, but since I am teaching I do. Thanks for reminding me...must go this weekend!

  • yes. When I was teaching, and now that I work in daycare, I get the shot every year. DH gets it because his mom has health issues so if we were to be sick and be around her she would get it way worse.

  • I get it every year either at the doctor's or this year at work.

  • I can't get one because I'm allergic to eggs.  Knock on wood I've only had the flu twice.  Once in college and once last year (my student teacher gave it to me - so nice of him).
  • Ive never gotten it before. I should probably consider it for this year though. Im working in an addictions inpatient clinic and during the winter Im told they never go outside and the buildings heat is automatically controlled so no opening windows. Im sure its a germ fest in there.

  • I never had one in my life until last year.  I figure I'll get them from now on for the sake of the kids.
  • I've gotten them in the past but after I had lyme disease, I can't get it again (or at least the specialists recommend against it). Supposedly the non-live one is OK, but it's still risky and that one's hard to find.

I had swine flu last November and I honestly thought I was dying. It was horrific...105* fever, aches, couldn't eat, the whole thing was awful.

My sister was recently diagnosed with lyme disease and she told me the same thing.  Her and I are in the same boat now with flu shots.

  • Before I go on my rant about everyone getting their flu shot....j/k...I am a pharmacist at Rite Aid and all we carry for the flu shots we give are Fluzone and Afluria both of which are the inactive influenza shots.  The Flumist nasal spray is the harder one to find as we don't carry it at all and I don't think alot of other chains do either.  So I'd check with your local pharmacy and see what they have - we do them at mine 7 days a week no appointment necessary.  Hope you can figure something out!
