What do you think of the announcements today? A quick recap:
- The iPhone 4S was introduced today - it will be similar to the iPhone 4 but with some enhancements "under the hood."
- The camera will be improved, and it will shoot video in 1080p.
- It has a faster processor and longer battery life.
- It will have an improved antenna, with faster upload and download speeds.
- It will include voice assistant support from Siri.
- It will be available on the Sprint network.
I have an iPhone 3GS, so I'm excited to get an upgrade. Apple's stock went down today, likely since the upgrade wasn't as extensive as some had hoped.
What do you think? Will you get it?

I have the 4 but dh only has the 3 ( not even the gs...the 3) and really needs the 4 to be able to tether and drop his aircard service. He is kind enough to let me take the upgrade and and he will buy me the new one for Xmas/ my bday and take my current 4. I really was hoping for the 5 and the likelihood of next yr is probably pretty good.
I guess if the price with contract drops on the 4 he will just get that and I'll keep mine ( wait it out for the 5 ) if the price doesn't drop on the 4 then I'll get the 4s and he can have my 4. Then come next year we will both be eligible for upgrades

I was fine with the announcement because I just got my 4 this summer. I will have no trouble waiting out the two years until I am up for an upgrade now, and I will get the 5 when I am eligible.
Did they say anything about the 4S working differently than the 4 on the Verizon network? I know one thing that we hear a lot about is how you can talk and surf the web on the ATT network, which we are unable to do with Verizon. I am wondering if this one will be 4G, thereby "fixing" that. It's a non-issue for me, but ATT likes to push that in their commercials!

I am very pleased with the announcement as I am not eligible for an upgrade. Although I would enjoy having Siri I can wait it out until my upgrade and hopefully the iPhone 5.
I am taking pleasure in all the people who are so upset that it wasn't an iPhone 5 because that is what was rumored. This reinforces that you really don't know what Apple is doing until they announce it.
I was excited. I had a 3GS and went to an Android. I have the EVO 4G and it was great at first, but almost a year into having it, its having issues. I miss my iphone. I would like to get the 4S but I can't afford it. Im eligible for an upgrade, but it seems like it will only be $99 for the 4, $199 for the 4S. I don't know if its worth it.
I would like to have the newest and shiniest but don't know if I can justify the $100 difference. Choices to make...
I was disappointed. It doesn't seem like it's much of an upgrade from my 4. I was really hoping for them to make face time work on the phone's network and not have to connect to a WiFi. I would like to face time more with DH but there's not much opportunity to. I'm eligible for an upgrade currently (and I'm eligible for a full upgrade ever 12m), but I can't decide if I'll get it. I'm sure I could sell my current iPhone 4 on ebay for almost enough to cover the 4S, but if a newer, better version comes out next June then I'll have to wait a few months for what might be a great upgrade because I decided to go for a slight upgrade.
What I find the biggest upgrade with the 4S is the stabilized video, I have 3 very active little boys and the camera/video function is so slow that it's hard to get good shots of them.
