Ladies that are "team green"

Thank you! I love that there are so many of you that are team green, and I love guessing what you are having. It's so fun.  It almost makes me think next time maybe we will go team green!

  • I love being Team Green.  And honestly, I don't even care to find out.  I thought I would be tempted at the u/s, but I wasn't.  And my doctor knows so I could find out at any appointment, but I just don't care.

DH *kind of* wanted to find out with this one, but it wasn't an option.  I told him if he really wanted to, he could find out with a second.  But I think he is enjoying it a bit, so I hope he doesn't want to.

  • I'm glad that we didn't find out and it worked out as we had planned - NONE of our sutff us gender specific so if we have a second, all of this stuff will work for that baby too.  But there were times, especially middle of the pregnancy, where I REALLY wanted to know. And when I'm shopping I wish we knew. But then we'd have a bunch of blue or pink things and that would defeat the whole purpose.

And I'm SUPER excited for DH to be able to share the news of the gender with everyone. I think he's excited for that too.  Our parents and friends will be waiting with such anticipation and he'll get to make the big announcement!

LOL - I told H that's what we should do but he wasn't interested in torturing our family....silly man.

Me too, I needed to know either blue or pink.  Next one my H will want to know because he is set on a boy. Maybe if we try for 3 the third one will be team green.

It's funny because all of my big items are all gender neutral so really it didn't matter.  I think the last part is really what I think would be so cool, everyone just waiting to find out and you and your H just have that moment when you are the only people that know!

    This would be me probably!

I would like 1 more, then we're done.  I'd want to know, this way I can start getting the opposite sex clothes out of the house.  My storage area is full of boys & girls clothes.

THIS! I'd go crazy trying to design a gender neutral nursery, I want it either super girly girl or boy.

This was my thought too!  I feel like even if I knew what the gender was, it would be easy enough to pick things that are gender specific.

  • A friend of mine did this with her second.  She found a baby store that would talk to the doctor (if you wanted, of course) to find out the gender.  Then you pick one boy set of stuff and one girl set of stuff.  They have it all wrapped up and deliver it to you when you get home from the hospital!  I thought it was a great idea!

  • We won't be doing a pink or blue nursery, and we'll probably get mostly gender neutral stuff anyway in case we have more kids, but there is no way I could not find out....the wait to 20 weeks is already killing me! I am just dying to know. I don't really care to be surprised.

  • I rarely post anymore on this board...but I am team green!  If someone teaches me how to PIP ill post a pic :)   But im leaning towards BOY!
  • I am already dying to know and I'm only 5 weeks pregnant!!  I just don't do well with surprises.  But, you ladies can still guess before our anatomy scan what we are having.  Just give me about 14 weeks... good grief that's almost 4 months.  :(

  • I couldnt stand not knowing.  DH and I already decided when we get pregnant, we are finding out but not telling any one.  Im hoping that will force me to register/buy gender neutral stuff, because I do want whatever we buy to work for baby #2 and maybe a baby #3.

This is what we will be doing when I get pregnant. DH wants to know the sex and I would like to be team green. I thought about DH being the only one to know, but he absolutely cannot keep a secret. I told him I would compromise and only the two of us would know. That way, we can still plan, but also get gender neutral things. We are definitely evil!

  • I would like to add that even if I knew what I was having, I would have still done the gender-neutral nursery, car seat, high chair, etc.  However, for me, it is controlling my spending.  I really can't buy a ton of clothes because they make so few gender neutral outfits.  I have still picked up a fair amount of clothes, but I would have gone SO OVERBOARD if I knew what I was buying for.  I recently realized that a lot of my gender-neutral clothes look more boyish, so I actually bought a pink hat and a blue hat to take to the hospital so that the baby will somewhat appear to be a boy/girl.

Also, to me, it leaves an element of surprise about the baby being born.  No offense to anyone who does this, but there's not a whole lot of anticipation when someone goes to the hospital, and you know the sex of the baby and the name.  So when the baby is born, to me...it's almost like, so what?  IF we find out the sex for child #2, I told DH we are absolutely not sharing the name with anyone so that there will still be some surprise.

I see the point of this, but I don't necessarily agree with it all.  Everyone knew that Peyton was a girl and what her name would be.  There was still a element of surprise in that you have no clue who she is going to look like, hair/no hair, etc, etc.  Everyone was super shocked that Peyton was over 8 pounds when she was born because I only gained 8 pounds my whole pregnancy.  So, yeah it's a different kind of surprise, but still something to look forward to.
