Talent

If you could have any talent that you don't ready have what would it be?

Re: Talent

  • I would like to be able to sing well. DH gets annoyed with my terrible singing.

  • I wish I could really sing. I can kind of sing, but I wish I was really good. If I had been a better singer I probably wouldve stayed a music major and wouldve already graduated by now.

  • I would love to play the guitar.
  • I would like to be able to play a musical instrument.  I took piano lessons briefly, but I thought the teacher was mean so I quit.

  • I sang all through high school and used to do theater but after having surgery my voice changed so I can't sing the way I used to. I'd love to have that back. I'd also love to play an instrument and be able to draw. I'm awful at drawing.

Just curious, what surgery did you have that changed your voice? You don't have to share if you don't want to.

I had my adenoids removed, tonsils removed, pollups removed from my sinus cavity and my deviated septum corrected. I had to retrain myself to sing because all of the vibrations and sounds were different. I was working with my voice coach and making progress but we moved from NY to FL shortly after and I stopped training. The ability is still there if I were to work really hard on it but I still sound different than I did.

Sometimes when I'm really drunk (and therefore really relaxed) I start to sound more like my old self (according to DH...based on me singing in the car and him only having seen videos of old performances, lol).

  • I figured it was that, DH had the same surgery and his voice changed as well although he doesn't sing at all.
  • I would like to be able to dance or play the drums.

Really? That's crazy. It never occurred to me that it would change someone's speaking voice.

ETA: Now I'm wondering if mine changed. My family never said anything so I'm assuming no.
