Translation courtesy of Dr Google.. I pretty much only learned to say arigato (over and over again) and bow. Tokyo was an experience -- an assault of sights, sounds, and smells. 10 days was a long time to be there (well, 9 on the ground, plus days of travel). I was able to take a day trip on the bullet train to Koyoto and take a tour of three shrines, which was incredibly awe-inspiring... Saw some sumos on the train, too, but no geishas.
All in all, I am exhausted and so very thankful to be home.
Now, what did I miss here? A belated happy birthday or anniversary to anyone who celebrated while I was away!

Re: ??????? ! (Hello again!)
Awesome!! It sounds like it was a neat trip to get paid to go on!
I need to get a job that pays me to go to Tokyo...

Welcome home!
When I first started dating DH, his computer had a little ninja that would say arigato when you turned it on. For almost a year I thought he was saying Avagodro and often wondered why the ninja was fascinated with chemistry. DH thought it was hysterical when I asked...
Pretty much... hee hee. A group of us sang karoke in Big Echo one night -- the highrise places very much like in the movie. (and yes, i sang "Brandy." It's "my" karaoke song.)
it was a great professional opportunity and since John will never go there, a once in a lifetime trip for me personally as well.

Glad you had a good time! DH got back last Friday night. He had time to go to a Tokyo Yakult Swallows baseball game, which he said was hilarious. Cheerleaders, breakdancers, the mascot's "sexy little sister," and an umbrella dance every time they scored...
Oh, and he ate at the Kill Bill restaurant but didn't have his camera!

I could not stop thinking about that movie when I was in Tokyo - such an experience!! I hope you had fun - the first time I went, I don't think I really appreciated it until I could get back home and reflect on it
