T&P F/U

Sorry, I see some of you asked questions. I didn't get on last night, and the post was moved to a different page.

They bought a house in NM 5 years ago, and it's been on the market for 4 years. Long story short, they are dumb, bought a house they couldn't afford in a place they'd visited once, didn't have jobs, and are now broke. They live on SSI and disability. They ended up forclosing.

They are here because they've wanted to be here closer to us for 4 years, and now that we have the baby they decided to come. Well, they would have lost their house by the end of the year anyway.

They are living with us because 1) they are broke, 2) they have no jobs, 3) they have no savings, 4) they have no credit (bankruptcy and foreclosure in the past 10 years), and 5) I refuse to co-sign anything for them to have credit to rent an apartment.

So they are saving money for a few months and then getting a place to rent that doesn't check credit... probably a whole-in-the-wall place somewhere. Who knows.

I'm happy for Dh that they're here... he's barely seen them in 7 years since he left for college. But it just sucks that they're IN THE SAMEHOUSE with us. Big Smile

Moral of the story- don't retire when you're 47, have barely any savings, and a son in middle school (this is what FIL did, and MIL never worked).

Yeah... Univ of Phoenix called DH today. They had a class split and need someone to pick up a math class that starts next week. I'm am teaching on Wednesday nights right now, so normally he would have said no to them. But since his parents can be with the baby, he was able to take it. Yes... $2000 more dollars for us!
