Well, of course he has been fighting it for a long time. It's still "shocking". Maybe not to you...but yea.
It's always shocking when someone passes away. Always. May he rest in peace and he truly impacted this world with his revolutionizing of technology.

Yes, we all knew he was sick, but i'm with blueshirt - I was SHOCKED when I heard he passed away. I'm not going to lie, I cried. I'm a big Apple person and this is such a huge loss not only from a technology standpoint, but for our generation. He was a game changer that will be sorely missed for his creativity and innovation in this world.
If you haven't seen it already, go to youtube and find his 2005 Stanford Commencement Address. Truly inspiring.
