One of my FB "friends" -- I use "" because I keep her as a friend purely for entertainment purposes -- is getting a divorce.
She's so stupid about it. She posted this last night:
I am a bit pissed off that (husbands name) decided to tell everyone on facebook we were getting Divorced before we told family members...
To which I posted this....
Sorry to hear that. But I think everyone could have put two and two together just based on your vague status updates.
Every.Single.Day for the past week and a half she updates her status with stupid, vague statuses (which I hate to begin with) that clearly pointed to her marital troubles. *sidenote: they have only been married for a little over a year and have 3 kids* She'd post things like "didn't see this coming...he flipped my life upside down" "my life is over.. you can probably guess what's happening" blah blah blah...
My response apparently p!ssed her off because her status is being filled with comments about how insensitive my comment was.
*shrug* Oh well. If she didn't want people to comment about it, maybe she should keep her dirty laundry off the internet.
Did I cross a line? Maybe, but like I said, she should keep her personal stuff personal if she doesn't want comments like mine.
Re: Oops, crossed a line!
I hate that stuff. I have a friend like that who constantly complains about her husband on FB (and he is ALSO on FB). Some of it is so inappropriate it makes me uncomfortable to read.
I agree, don't air your dirty laundry on the internet if you don't want people to see and comment on it.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!

I think you're totally fine. She obviously wants people to comment on it. She should know if she posts things like that, she's going to get different reactions...and yours was just honest!
I've wanted to write similar things on my "friends" walls, but I just never have the nerve:)

ditto word for word, especially the bolded
I normally wouldn't have the nerve to say anything either. But this chick was just asking for it. She's such an AW.
I definitely don't think you crossed the line, people post things on FB for others to comment on them. I just think some people assume that everyone will say what they want to hear and when someone actually calls them out on it they get defensive.
btw: way to go for saying that though, I have so many people on FB that I want to say stuff to but just let it pass
I agree that you're fine. People who post stuff like this are drama queens in general and of course would be the first ones to call someone out the second they so much as rolled their eyes at them.
The same bs happened to me last week. My 27 year old cousin (who was 2 kids btw) changed his relationship status and is now dating a 19 year old.
Literally, hours after "being in a relationship" he posts this paragraph status update about how she's changed his life blah blah and a big "I love you" at the end. My eyes bout rolled out of my head. All I commented was "woah nelly....." People went bizzurk.
