I feel really strange about Steve Jobs having died.

My earliest childhood memories are of playing the Olympics game on an Apple Computer in my bff's basement in Kansas - in fact, most of my summer school sessions while in elementary school were Apple computer oriented - remember the Oregon Trail?  Anyway....just sad that someone that contributed so much to society had to die so young.

This is my feeling, too.  The contributions he made are amazing.

  • I feel the exact same way. And, I empathize with the family since I lost late FIL to pancreatic cancer, and that was rough to watch. Just weird that there's no more Steve Jobs.

  • I'm really bummed out about it. Like Patton Oswalt said on Twitter last night, Steve Jobs was the closest thing we had to Tony Stark. He really changed the world. I've had a ton of Apple products over the years, and honestly the majority of my first computer experiences involved those early 90's Macintosh computers. I even had two of them, and I wish I still had them because they're probably serious collector's items!

I use a MacBook at work, and I own several iPods and use my iPad religiously (and now that Sprint is getting the iPhone, I'll have one of those soon too!). So to say Steve Jobs mildly influenced my life is an understatement. He and his innovation will be missed. I can only imagine what other things he would have come up with had he been around 20 more years.

  • I gasped out loud when I read the news, fittingly, on my iPhone.

  • I saw the AP tweet pop up... I just thought, there's no way. I was in shock. It's just one of those things, like yes, we knew he was sick, but I don't think anyone knew how sick he was. I cried. And I know that sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it really is sad to see someone who, really did in every sense change this world, pass away. If you have ever watched his keynotes, he was always so passionate about what he was doing and it was refreshing to see someone doing what they love to do. If you can't tell I'm a huge Apple person and this is such a huge loss not only from a technology standpoint, but for our generation. He was a game changer that will be sorely missed for his creativity and innovation in this world. If you haven't seen it already, go to youtube and find his 2005 Stanford Commencement Address. Truly inspiring.?
