How do you clean your granite countertops?
We just moved into a new place & where told to use a sponge & soapy water only. No cleaners of any kind on the granite. I don't know about you but that skeeves me out. I like to disinfect my counters w/ some kind of cleaner but I don't want to wreck them either.
Whats the best thing to use to keep them clean & germ free?
Re: How do you clean your granite countertops?
I mix rubbing alcohol with water 50/50.
The mint scented alcohol is nice.
Definitely start by using soap/water and scrub it down good. Then I use Method by Target granite cleaner after that. LOVE THE STUFF...it's cheap/works great! I've tried like 10 other brands.
Also talk to a professional. Granite counters need to be sealed every so often. (1-2 yrs?) The sealant gradually goes away. I don't remember the exact time or product because my friend (professional stone layer) does mine for me. I just know it should be done.
