Anyone have Mirena IUD experience?
Getting one inserted today but having doubts because of everything I've read online.
Re: Anyone have Mirena IUD experience?
I got a Mirena.
No problem at all.
Loved it.
Completely recommend it.
I've heard some people cramped but it passed.
Don't get scared by the internet.
I had really bad cramps the day after but it was pretty good after that. The only thing that I'm STILL dealing with (3+ years later) is cystic acne. I have to be super regimented with my skin care and even then these nasty little buggers still show up. They're like zits that never come to the surface - hard bumps on my chin and neck.
My suggestion, if you end up with acne problems and they don't clear up, they probably wont
Other than that, I was one of the lucky ones and my periods almost stopped completely. Good luck!
No issues here. I did not have cramps that I remember. I did spot for a few months. It is just now getting better. No issues breastfeeding with it either.
Ugh, I never thought to blame this ridiculousness on my IUD. Crap, but still worth it.
Had mine almost the full 5 years now and planning on getting another one (DH and I not quite ready yet)
BEST INVENTION EVER!!! DH puts it just behind the Playstation:)
took about a week for the cramps to stop after initial insertion, but no worse than a bad period...and speaking of periods, haven't had one in 4 years. Nothing to think about, nothing to remember, for YEARS.
It is awsome. period.
I just got mine placed at the end of August. I cramped a little the first day and off and on during the first week. Nothing that Motrin couldn't handle though.
I'm still bleeding every now and then. It's not consistent, but it's also not a lot. I think I've noticed that the more active I am, the more likely I am to bleed a little bit.
I've also just started to get some acne. I didn't have to wash my face religiously before or anything, so I'm figuring that I will just need to start doing that now and hopefully that will help.
So once I get past the bleeding, I'll have no complaints.
I went from a super slim frame with no boobies (pretty much been an A my entire life) to gaining 8-10 pounds and a major increase in boob size. I know the cramps vary from person to person. I initially bleed a lot the 1st 2 weeks. I was super thankful to have some prescription strength ibuprofen because especially the 1st few days were horrible. But it just depends on the person, I had 1 friend say she only had cramping for a week and another 2 days. Although I think I'm going to get mine out, the addition weight is really bothering me.
