Kid-friendly brunch place

I searched first but couldn't find a similar post - does anyone have a recommendation for a kid-friendly brunch place in/around downtown Minneapolis or out toward the NW suburbs?  Hoping to find a place that takes reservations - could easily exhaust the patience of our 2-year-old on a Sunday wait...

We're taking out of town friends there, so would like it to be a cool/unique place with great food!

Thanks so much!

Re: Kid-friendly brunch place

  • We've taken my now 3 year old niece to Granite City for brunch a few times and she was fine.

    We're kind of going out.
  • I know Jakes in Plymouth does a brunch.  We've never been to it but like their food in general.

  • The Tavern in Blaine has a good brunch and they have a kid countertop area with video games. It's also louder in there and really kid friendly.

  • ChatterBox Highland location is good- I know it is further than you want to drive though- we play Candyland all the time :)  Not sure about reservations.

  • I love Jake's in Plymouth but really wasn't that impressed with their brunch...Granite City's is much better.  It's not bad its just not amazing!  I was shocked since I tend to really like Jake's for supper, etc.

Granite City is good, but does not take reservations.

There is also a Tavern in Edina (its called Tavern on France...same one as the Blaine one).  Never had their brunch but their food is amazing!  Both locations are kid friendly and I don't think they do reservations but they do call ahead seating.

  • What about somewhere that has more a a buffet breakfast so your 2 year old doesn't have to wait for food?  I've taken both kids to Kozlak's sunday brunch and they usually do fine since they don't have to wait to eat.

Not sure if Keys take reservations, but they're very children friendly.

I was also going to recommend this place...great brunch. Like said, not sure they take reservations but they do let you call ahead. Taken the kids there a few times for brunch and we all loved it.

  • I also like Tavern on Farnce for food but it actually is the only non friendly kid place I have been in the cities. We didn't go for bruch so, maybe that's the difference or it was just that day but I wouldn't rec it for kids.
