Re: AF_EOD_Wife
Ha! Things are OK, but very slow. Thanks for asking! Yesterday I had killer contractions all day, went to the hospital last night in tears. Sure enough, perfect on the monitor but somehow still at a 2. I'm simply not progressing but because Caroline is perfectly fine they won't take her until Sunday at the earliest. So they gave me a pain shot and sent me home. I basically died for about 9 hours I think!
For now, still have a c-section scheduled for the 12th. The whole "no medical intervention until 39 weeks" rule is killer and my OB as well as my MIL (who is an OB) is simply shocked that I've been in latent labor for so long and they feel horrible that they can't really help me.
But, the most important thing is that baby is fine. She seems very content, her heart rate and movement are great, and though this has been a rough last month of pregnancy knowing that she's OK is all that is getting me through. I kind of feel like a failure since I can't seem to progress, but I know that's ridiculous too.
The C section was my sister, not OP.
Yeah, it's looking like c-section is going to be the best way to get her out. I guess my pelvis is really unfavorable and tilted, so while I may dilate to 10 I would push and push and never get her out. So, to minimize carnage, my doc recommended a c-section that was scheduled so that my body didn't go through the trauma that emergency c's tend to. My sis had one, as well, and honestly I'm unfazed. I have no qualms about medical intervention really so it's NBD.
At this point, after weeks of latent labor, I'm just ready for her to get out!
How are you doing?! Hard to believe you're almost done!
No, AF mentioned a c-section earlier.
The way you worded that terrifies me haha. There's nothing wrong with having a c-section, some women actually prefer having them. It's kind of nice knowing when exactly you'll have your baby and I'm glad you're going to have a smooth delivery. Sounds like you're ready
ETA. Oh and I'm great, haha. Thanks for asking! I can't believe I'm almost there either, the pregnancy has flown by and surprisingly has been a breeze. It'll be nice to hit full term in 2 weeks though! I'm not too uncomfortable yet, I'm just really excited to meet our little guy and see my H with his son when he gets home.
My bad, I reread it.. apparently my brain thinks it's shut down time.
