Game food

We're having a few friends over for the game Saturday and I need food ideas!  Since it's in the middle of the day I was thinking maybe something with some substance instead of just a bunch of snacks?

DH wants tortilla pinwheels and chips with 7 layer dip, so we'll have those.  I was thinking buffalo chicken dip and chips because it's super delicious and easy, and maybe something sweet....what else, ideas?

  • I like to make this fiilthy dip in the crockpot - one can of rotel to one thingie of cream cheese. Mama mia it is addicting and tasty!
  • I made muffin pan pizzas a couple of weekends ago. Super easy!

All you need is ground beef, spaghetti sauce, Phillsbury biscuits, pepperoni, and mozz. cheese.

Brown the meat and add spaghetti sauce. Flatten out the biscuits a little, just enough to get the biscuit up on the side of the pan. Add some meat, top with cheese and pepperoni. I bake them at 350 for about 30 minutes or until it looke bubbly and golden. You can make a lot of them and they are also good the next day.

  • I made pepperoni pizza puffs for a game last season...they came out pretty good, which was surprising [especially since I kinda burned them]. I did that, chips and queso, buffalo wings and cupcakes for the last game day get-together I had.

  • I like those little smokie sausages wrapped in cresent rolls with rance or sausage balls with ranch. For sweet I would go with brownies or cookies.

I do this, but I also add a pound of browned sausage. Serve with tortilla chips. So yum!

For sweet, you might try chocolate chip cookie dough dip. I made it for some girls on here, and they can probably tell you it's really yum and addicting. Plus it's easy to make. I serve it with vanilla wafers, but I think you can do graham crackers or any other sweet cookie or cracker: http://www.food.com/recipe/Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-Dough-Dip-171792

I was at a GTG where you brought this and it is delicious!  Unfortunately, I would probably gain 10 lbs this weekend if it were in our house Stick out tongue.

PW's dip sounds good and I could definitely do the pigs n a blanket that someone suggested--so yummy and easy!  For sweets I may do cupcakes, I can make those WW friendly pretty easily (and they still taste good!).

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Holy delicious, these look good!  I may have to go buy a mini muffin pan so I can make these....and I'm pretty sure we've got some wings in the deep freeze!

Oh that's right, it was at Heather's house, wasn't it?

Just use fat free cream cheese. Voila. Only one pound instead of ten. ;)

  • You could always do those pumpkin cupcakes with ff cream cheese frosting where you mix the yellow or spice cake mix with a can of pumpkin.

Lol that's my plan!  Except I just sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top.  I made them recently and even DH liked them--he usually automatically hates anything WW friendly haha.  I think I'll do some with yellow cake mix and try some with chocolate cake mix.

  • Pumpkin chocolate chip brownies, s'mores crescent rolls, cheesecake stuffed strawberries, nutella cupcakes
  • If you want something filling you could make your snack foods and throw some brats/hot dogs on the grill.  Those pumpkin cupcakes sound tasty for a dessert.

I am going to have to try the chocolate cake mix. I will have to try the powdered sugar on top too.

  • Oh, I saw the cutest thing on Pinterest the other day. I want to do it sometime. Put chili in mason jars, pour cornbread batter on top, and bake! SO CUTE, and would be fun for a game day.

  • How about a pot of chili? If you make it in the crockpot you won't have to spend much time on it, and it'll stay warm for people to wander over to get it throughout the game.

For dessert, I love all things pumpkin this time of year!
