it seems like it's never ending! i'm ALWAYS fixing, cleaning, decorating, purging, redoing...and usually all at once.
what is going on in your home? what are you working on? what's up next? what is bothering you most about your house?

Re: home check-in
my list is probably 3 miles long so i won't bore you with all of it.
i really need to continue the purge. that's probably what i'm most focused on because i think if i can get organized it will be easier to stay organized.
when h's dad gets back in town he's going to help me do the baseboard and shoe mold in our hallway since i'm clueless. since he's a plumber when he's over i'm also going to have him look at our upstairs bathtub faucet since it's leaking.
i really need to do some ceiling touch ups. i have the paint and brushes, but i doubt i'll get to that this weekend.
i may see if h wants to go to the dump this weekend - nice date activity, huh? they take electronics which our trash people don't. we have an old computer monitor and lots of cords/chargers that need to go.
Since we moved here in August of 2009, I have had the same gross nasty carpet. I didn't even want this carpet moved here with us but we didn't have anything at the time in it's place. So now, 2 years later, we're here with the same carpet.
1. Remove and replace dining room carpet
2. Remove leaf and glass table top cover from the dining room table so that we can actually use the table
3. Remove exercise bike from tiny dining room that hasn't been used ONCE since being moved here last summer.
Other than that, I'm somewhat content with our home.
Our list is crazy long too! I'm just trying on a few key things to get done before Christmas.
1) finish stairs and landing at back entryway (DH is doing this and it's almost done)
2) tear up tile in kitchen and lay new flooring
3) paint kitchen
The fact that we don't have a "mother in law suite." Seriously. I would love love love to have an addition where my parents could stay. All it would need is really a bedroom/living area and a bathroom - even a half bath would do. I never thought I would want my parents here so much! ha.
Or... ya know, the fact that my house looks nothing like the homes I see on Pinterest. Good god there are some beautiful homes out here. The other day after a doctor's visit, the girls both fell asleep in the backseat of the car so I drove around for a while giving them the opportunity to rest (knowing full well that as soon as I brought them inside the house they would wake up). I was all day-dreamy looking at houses in a certain neighborhood in our area. Gah! I want to move so bad! Like.. ok, I want to move, but I don't want to leave NOLA. Ugh.
Right now the biggest annoyance is the crickets. I have no idea what's going on, but we have at least 1 in the house every other day. I guess a door or something isn't sealed well...no idea.
The other main annoyance are the closets. I hate them.
In a way I wish we owned this house so I could do stuff to it and in a way I'm glad we don't own it b/c I'd never want to own a house with all these issues.
