I started for the boys but not for family...since Baby 2 is coming in two weeks- I see gift cards being purchased for most people this year...

Re: anyone started xmas shopping?

  • Not even started, and I'm clueless as to what to do this year. I usually send packages to my family with goodies but I feel like I've used up all my good ideas in past years!

  • I shop all year round.  Target has huge clearances in the summer.  Even getting winter stuff at the end of last winter for this year.  I have a lot of blog connections and scored some promotional stuff for the kids (like hot new toys for this year), and I have a ton of baby stuff as well that I get that way, I give to friends (nice, high end stuff).  Basically I collect stuff all year round, so I have a pretty good stash.  And when my DD was due in October, I actually had my Xmas shopping done before the baby was born, the last thing I wanted to do with take 2 kids holiday shopping with me.
  • I have! I start picking up things as I see them inexpensively through the year. It saves us lots of $$ and stress come the holiday season.  The only people I don't buy in advance for are my secret santa for Jeff's family, my niece and nephew (so I can get them something off their list) and the child we donate xmas to.
  • I made a crazy goal for myself of making everyone's Christmas presents so I've started.  This on top of my insane work schedule and taking post grad classes.

I have a few people done and I have a few left to do but I've managed to make something for almost everyone (or have it started) at this point.  I made a list of what I want to do and I have to buy a few things still but I've accomplished a lot already.  This weekend will help since it's a 3 day weekend.

  • I actually have four gifts bought as of today. I bought one thing for the DH last month. I ordered a gift off of Ebay for Dad ( he still needs another gift, though).

Today  I went to Ellicotville's Fall Festival and I picked up two gifts!! One gift is for a friend. I usually just buy her a small gift. I also bough a small gift for my Mom.

I will begin to look and buy something every payday to make things easier. Then on Black Friday I buy gifts for the DH.

  • I have! I am super-prepared by nature plus I love holiday shopping. I have only picked up a few items as of now, but I hope to get going on more soon. I am hoping my candle business will boom again this Christmas as that helped take care of the cost of some of my shopping!
