I am so cold today. I would be miserable if it wasn't Friday and if the forecast wasn't for gorgeous weather all weekend! What do you have planned?
I think we are going to finally finish up our front landscaping that we tore out in the spring. We are kind of "those neighbors" right now. Sunday we might take a break to watch football.
Re: TGIF
Ugh, I hate yard work. GL, baker!
We have a fun weekend planned. House showing on Saturday afternoon, so we're going to go apple picking and then make apple crisp. Sunday we have breakfast at my mother's, watching football at my father's. Monday I have a lunch date with a teacher friend.
I wish I could do landscaping this year
Tonight DH is hitting Ikea to buy a bunch of crap to store all of our other crap in.
Tomorrow is the GTG
Sunday we're heading to NH so a friend can take pro pics
I will be missing football, but my time has a bye.

Happy Friday!
No plans for tonight, might stop my usual Harvard Sq. haunt for some drinks.
Tomorrow morning is the GTG
Tomorrow night DH and I are going out for an early anniversary dinner in the South End (eta or Beacon Hill/Back Bay....we're trying to branch out from Camberville restaurants), although we haven't nailed down a location yet. Recs anyone? I'm particularly interesting in French or New American type places, $150ish budget.
Sunday we're having people over for the Jets vs. Pats game and DH is making chili. Go Jets!!
I'm actually bummed its gonna be hot this weekend, I'm digging the fall weather.
LadyE, your breakfast got moved to Sunday? Don't think I missed that! Come to breakfast with us on Saturday!
Dr.L, pro pics will be fun!
We had yet another set of friends arrive last night who are staying with us until Saturday. Tonight we're taking them to open gym volleyball (their request) and then will probably introduce them to Cabot's for ice cream. We'll spend tomorrow hanging out with them until their flight in the evening (after the breakfast GTG), but they don't have any specific plans in mind for what to do.
Sunday I have to finish up last year's taxes, work on some Brazil trip details, run errands, etc. Not such a fun day planned--I hate the grown up, practical things in life!
You're going to Brazil? Jealous! When?
For real. One of these things is not like the others. This is a vacation trip, right?
Happy early anniversary!
I think everyone knows by now of my love for No. 9 Park, so if you can still get a reservation there I highly recommend it (remember: prune-stuffed gnocchi appetizer). Mistral is also good, but I think I still prefer N9P.
I know you said outside Cambridge, but if you're looking for French I have to plug Salts on Main St. If you like duck, go for the honey lavender whole-roasted duck for two that I'm always raving about (and call in advance to reserve it). Otherwise, lots of other great stuff on the menu too, I'm sure.
Happy anniversary (early), SCM! I haven't been, but I've heard good things about (and want to try) Gaslight.
Rock, sounds like you're going to make the wedding after all - when do you leave? I bet it'll be an amazing trip!
My mom is supposed to come visit tomorrow, but she's not feeling well and I feel like I'm fighting something, so we'll see what happens. If she doesn't make it, then my husband and I may try to go to lunch and a movie. Sunday, he'll watch football, so I'll probably clean/read. I got a Kindle last week, and I haven't even taken it out of the box yet, so I'll probably futz with that. I'm a terrible techie. And Monday, I've got the day off, but he doesn't, so I'm thinking I may try to make an apple pie and veg.
Enjoy the weekend, everyone!
LOL, sorry, didn't I mention here before about the wedding we got invited to at the last minute? A friend of mine got engaged in August or September and apparently decided to have the wedding ASAP, though she was careful to note that she's not knocked up
. I've been frantically buying plane tickets, getting hotels, applying for a visa, doing research, etc.
We'll be in Rio for not quite a week, then Sao Paulo for a few days. If anyone's been and has recs for anything--food, activities--I'll take 'em! I am sooooo excited for this vacation as we haven't been able to go anywhere all year and, in fact, had to cancel a few trips due to family stuff (my grandfather's health, MIL's health).
OK, I did mention it, I'm not crazy! Not that I expect you all to remember every detail of my life, haha!
I'm sorry your mom isn't feeling great, and I hope you don't come down with something too. Maybe you should reconsider coming to breakfast tomorrow if your mom doesn't make it
I could probably be your chauffeur.
As for Gaslight: great bread, shady waiter. I'm biased against the place forever because our waiter tried to tip himself like an extra $40 or something on my credit card. Good thing I pay attention to my statements.
Happy early anniversary SCM! Enjoy your dinner
Rock have fun in Brazil. Sounds amazing, and I am very jealous you get to escape this cold weather!
This weekend is kind of busy... Tonight FI, Simon and I are driving to my family's house on the Cape just for the night. We have to pick up some old outdoor furniture and take it home. Score on free hand me down stuff! Saturday morning we'll drive home then in the afternoon we are going to go pumpkin picking. Very excited. And Sunday is a quiet day for me. Idk what FI is doing for football but I am going to enjoy the day on my own or with my little pup. Frowns I don't get a long weekend
Everyone enjoy their weekend whether long or not!
Truth!
Ugh, tomorrow I have to go BM dress shopping for FSIL's wedding. Not looking forward to it at all. I think there will be a lot of (unwanted) opinions flying around. One of the two she has it narrowed down to is the exact same dress (color and style) I just wore in my friend's wedding last month, which my FSIL attended. I actually really hope she picks that for me so I don't have to buy another dress.
Sunday is my dad's birthday so a bunch of family is getting together to watch the Pats game and eat pizza. Sounds good to me.
Oh that sucks! I'm sorry that happened. I'd hate them forever, too.
That's super shady =/ I've been to Gaslight and love it, but we're just looking to try something new. No.9 Park and Mistral both look fantastic...will def forward those menus on to DH to see what he thinks. I've heard great things about Salts too but we're determined to cross the river since 95% of the time we're too lazy to
ETA: Rock, I'm super jealous of your Brazil trip - that sounds fantastic!
Totally understandable. I don't think you can go wrong with either No. 9 Park or Mistral, so enjoy! Mmm...I'm salivating just thinking about it! Oh, just remembered, the hake (a white, flaky fish) at No. 9 is an excellent entree.
I'm super excited for Brazil but a little scared of hitting the beach in Rio. I am so not Brazilian-bikini ready so I'll probably look like some dowdy grandma to them in my relatively "full coverage" regular bikini
Oh, I want to meet BabyE! I think there are five of us right now (Dr.L., Ginger, SCM1011, lburkey, me)--still too many?
You know I'm totally just giving you a hard time because I want to meet you, right? I know you've probably got too much going on and too many moving parts to actually make it last minute
Too many people because of germies or space? I love me some baby fixes, and my kid is up her shots (not that she's coming or anything...)

It's nice here but I wish it were colder!
I ordered DS's birthday cake today! The baker and I spent almost an hour drawing it out and choosing the colors. It's wayyy overboard but I am super excited about it.
We met a friend and her baby (one of the hospital BF group babies) at the park so they could crawl around on the grass and we could catch up. It was nice! When DS is up from his nap we need to go to the mall and get a birthday present for a party tomorrow and a bachelorette party gift.
Tonight we are just hanging out here. I got some steaks at Whole Foods to grill.
Tomorrow DS has swim, then we have a 1st birthday party (the first in our group!) to go to. I have a (grown up) birthday party at a nearby bar later tomorrow night that I will go to.
Weather permitting, I'd like to try to go to the pumpkin patch on Sunday.
But more importantly, I need to get pix of my foster and do his bio for petfinder.
Lady E, if you come with BabyE....then I'll just have to suck it up and get up at 7:30am to make it to the GTG
Hahahahaha! I can see how that might be a problem
But he knows Punky, right? So, by extension, we're all cool and normal
No pressure or anything, LadyE
Ha! One of the first times I met a Nestie IRL, I was at a conference in FL. My co-workers were convinced she was going to kill me, and made me call them when I got back to the hotel so they knew I was OK.

LOL, that's sweet of your co-workers. I would never tell co-workers that I'm meeting Internet friends. I hardly even tell my friends IRL because it just sounds weird
I just drop the "Internet" part and say I'm meeting up with some friends.
Haha, my husband was the same way when I met up with people from a different message board. He said to me, "You know I've seen Taken right? I WILL go all Liam Neeson on people if that's what it takes."
Now I feel slightly unloved since my DH's response to nestie g2gs is "cool, have fun!", lol.
SCM....mine would say the same thing....and doesn't get concerned when I'm gone for hours and hours.
I almost thought I was going to make it to the GTG, cause I didn't sleep well, and I had looked at my clock at 5:30am.....thinking it was still early, I thought I might go. Looked at my clock, 8:45am.....guess I had fallen asleep
Hope you ladies had a great time!
