Who does the majority of the day to day housework (sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, dishes, etc.) in your house?[Poll]
Re: Clicky: Who cleans?
I do 99% of the cleaning. MH gets OCD about certain things though like me leaving glasses in the living room and goes on rants about picking them up.
He will also do the dishes for me a lot of the times and he does all the outide things and what I like to call man chores (taking out trash, mowing, taking care of garage etc).
We both hate to clean so we only do it at the same time so there's no "I did more than you did" resentment. We trade off each time. One person does kitchen + bathrooms and the other does the rest of the house.
As far as routine things go (dishes, trash, and wiping down the kitchen counters) we alternate. During the week he works I do them. During the week he's off I do them.
In the summer (when the grass isn't dead from a watering ban) I usually use the riding mower while he weed eats, then once he's done he hops on the mower and I weed the flower beds or spray around the house to keep bugs out.
I do 99.9% of the cleaning but H is slowly helping more. When we first got married and moved in together would go behind him and re-clean what he had just done because I was that anal. I am OCD and his cleaning was not up to my standards. I have laid off a bit just because I work 2 jobs and feel like he can contribute to the cleaning. I do sort the laundry for him so that is an easy thing for him and I have no reason to get pissy of something gets washed with the wrong clothes. He vaccums and loads the dishwasher now that I am not so anal. It has taken major baby steps for me to let him do the things he does but he is becoming more like me in the OCD dept so that helps.

I do most of the cleaning and our laundry. H does his work clothes (they're dirty so he has a washer and dryer of his own in the garage) so they don't contaminate our nicer clothes that we wear.
H is really sweet about helping out if I need him to. I think he can sense if it's been a long day or if I'm overwhelmed because he'll do something around the house out of no where. He is also responsible for the mowing/weed eating/edging (he's very good at it, too) and we both tackle the flower beds to keep them free of weeds and grass every week.
Missing our little turkey.
