Yay Friday! And it's a long weekend! Sorry to those that have to work on Monday.
I went shopping last night. I can't wait to be "out" at work, because lose tops that hide the bloat aren't always the best looking. I modeled my purchases for Derek when I got home and he said "well, it's not the most form fitting". Uh yeah babe, that's sort of the point.
This weekend is the weekend of 80th birthday parties. Tonight we're headed out with my family for my step-dad's mom's birthday (and other family October birthdays) and then tomorrow we're off to Derek's hometown for his grandmother's birthday!
Sunday and Monday will likely be spent at home working on kitchen stuff. Which is actually quite exciting.
What does everyone have on the go this weekend?
Re: Happy Friday!
Hah! Not the most form-fitting . . . oh, boys.
Nothing much going on this weekend. Josh has what will probably be a day-long meeting for the review website tomorrow, so I'm going to be at home doing some clutter control since the new bed is coming on Monday. I need to clear out what's under our bed--it's mostly wedding stuff that didn't fit in my closet, so I'll probably be finding Knot magazines from 2008.
I finally found an awesome duvet cover, but still haven't gotten a duvet. Err. That means at some point I'll need to get myself to the store. Probably Sunday.
Kind of jealous of everyone who has a three-day weekend (not with the feds anymore, so I don't get to follow their schedule entirely), but my boss did say I could transition to flex days soon. So that means a three-day weekend every other week. That's helping with the jealousy for this weekend.
YAY Its friday!
DH has to work tonight so I am going to head to do some shopping and take my grandmother along. She loves to get out and go, but doesn't feel comfrotable driving in a good bit of traffic. My kids also act way better when soemone else goes with us shopping.
Tomorrow I am heading to my bff's house to work on Jordan's halloween costume so dh can get some sleep. Saturday night we have a house warming for a friend to attend briefly. It is a come and go sort of thing.
Sunday I am going to organize closets. I hope to pack up most summer attire and get the kids winter/fall stuff out. DH is off so I am sure he will grill something and we will watch some football!
Happy Friday! It's just a normal weekend for me, but I'll still take it.
Tonight we're going to see a friend and his band play at a local bar. He does mostly fun, cover songs, so I'm sure it will be a good time. I'm hoping that we don't stay too late, because I don't want to be completely wiped out in the morning.
Tomorrow we have the farmer's market in the morning. After that, I have no definitive plans for the rest of the weekend. I'll definitely be doing some housework and laundry. I'm also hoping to catch up on my sleep. I'd like to do some major cooking as well.
Good Morning.
I'm up getting a couple last minute loads of laundry done. H is feeding Edmund as he can't have any formula after 7am which is just over a half an hour away. We don't have to leave home until 10 to catch the 10:25 ferry to Seattle. I'm all sorts of nervous right now. I can't believe it is finally here.
TGIF!
Raynes - that is funny.
Lastnight I finally caught up on the Netflix of True Blood. Now I will be anxiously awaiting the next disc.
Tomorrow, DH is going to finally get all of our wood stacked. I am thinking (since it is supposed to be high 70's all weekend which is unusual), I will get the boys outside, and maybe "help" daddy some. I also need to find some me time to try round 2 of shopping for my class reunion.
Sunday night DH has to work, so I plan on going to visit some friends I haven't seen in a while. It will help get the boys out of the house while daddy tries to sleep.
Have a great weekend ladies, and Ciaram thinking of you guys!
I'm so tired. I'm annoyed that I stayed up to watch A-Rod blow it yet again in the postseason. I hope they take his pinstripes and slap him. What a waste of space. To top it off, the munchkin has been up since 4am. I knew it was going to be a bad night when he woke up at 12. He usually sleeps straight from 730-2 or so. DH was asleep with him on the couch when I got out of bed. He was still grunting and fussing, but at least he was somewhat quiet. I'm so scared for our babysitter today. Hopefully he sleeps better once he poops.
Tonight will be just lounging and catching up on sleep...hopefully. DH is gone all weekend, so just me and the bub. We'll be making a cake with auntie then a bonfire Saturday night. Sunday we'll be apple picking, and a very slim chance we'll go to nephew's bday party. I'm trying to avoid my MIL, so I'm hoping I stay out too late to head over there.
Monday we have off!
We don't get Monday, either, which is just as well since I will need that whole day for a grant application due Tuesday.
I am doing a super quick trip home this weekend - leaving tomorrow morning and coming back Sunday night - for a friend's baby shower. I have one side seam left on the baby sweater, but now I'm not sure about it. It's not as polished as I would like since it's my first one. I may end up going to the store and getting something else, too.
Tonight, we may be going to dinner with some of Jim's friends from college. This is still sort of fluid. In the meantime, I have a crazy amount of work to do, so I better get to it.

Good morning, ladies.
It's Rally Day! The climax of our giving campaign at work, including a cookie bake-off and tricycle races! My teammate and I are dressing as Mario & Luigi to be Mario Cart racers. I hope I don't fall off the trike and break something.
We were supposed to hike Pikes Peak tomorrow for my friend's 30th birthday, but it's going to snow tonight and tomorrow, with blizzard conditions at higher elevations. Pikes Peak is 14,110 feet high, and a blizzard up there would not be fun. So now we're talking about Sunday instead, if it's going to be sunny.
Have a great day, everyone!
I also stayed up to watch the end of the game Snoop, but I am much more pleased with the outcome! Go Tigers!
No 3-day weekend for me either; the firm doesn't recognize Columbus Day as a holiday. H is in Toronto for the weekend for some job stuff, and then he's going to Michigan for some other work-related things and to see my parents since it's only a few hours away from Toronto. So I am on my own this weekend. I haven't been home on a weekend in quite some time, so I guess it will be nice.
Hope everyone has a nice Friday and nice weekend!
Good morning!
I had a super crappy day at work yesterday. We had a crap ton of drama go down the previous day in regards to who was in charge of what stuff for curriculum night, which I thought we'd all sorted out like adults. But an angry 3:30 am email was written by a staff member to the principal which resulted in MY being called in yesterday morning to watch the principal cry about having hurt feelings (I was the first of many called in).
And my last scone fell on the floor. And my bus never showed up at the end of the day.
BUT! The day was saved by finding out that the apartment across the hall from us has opened up (it's about 1200 sq feet, has two bedrooms and a gigantic solarium off the kitchen and a wood burning fireplace in the living/dining area) and we've decided to take it! So, we're still renters and will be for a while longer, but since we're still planning on trying to leave Toronto once Phil has his CGA designation in 1? years, this is the perfect solution for us. I'm a little sad to be leaving our current apartment because I love it SO much. But since we're only moving across the hall (literally, like 4? feet), I think I'll get over it quickly.

Hey ladies! I'm getting ready to head to the DMV to get a new license since mine was stolen in Cambodia. This promises to be a very fun way to spend a Friday morning.
Over the weekend we're going to paint! Yay! We aren't driving our furniture and stiff across the country until early November so our apartment is empty now and it's the perfect opportunity to jazz it up a bit. I'm so excited.
Then Monday I'm off the the east coast for 3 weeks to visit with family and friends. Another time zone change, argh.
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Les, that sounds awesome! I love that you're dressed up as Mario Cart racers.
Reba, have you blocked your pieces yet? The first "real" sweater (also a baby sweater) I made looked pretty "meh" when I finished sewing it up, but as soon as I blocked it (using the steam setting through a pillow case with my iron) the stitches all evened out and it looked amazing. I was shocked how much of a difference it made. So, don't give up on yourself yet!
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Good morning!
Tonight we're going to Toby Keith's Bar & Grill with a ton of our friends to celebrate my b-day and a couple of our friend's b-days. I'm really excited to see some of our friends I haven't seen for months.
Saturday is supposed to be really cold and rainy so I'll probably just stick around the house and get some cleaning and laundry done. Sunday will be grocery shopping, yard work, and relaxing.
Have a great weekend ladies!
Les, Can we get pictures of this event? Hilarious! P.s. I can't believe it's already snowing in the West. I'm so glad I don't live in ID anymore.
JaneGold, We can no longer be friends.
Good morning ladies! I am so glad the weekend is only 7ish hours away. It's been a long week and I'm ready to spend time with my family.
Tonight we are going to dinner with two of my friends and their SO's. My BFF is seeing one of DH's close friends so it should be interesting. Tomorrow we are going to a baptism in the early morning. Then DH's niece is coming over to visit for a bit, then we're going to the lunch for the baptism. I really hope that we can do nothing the rest of the day as I really need to clean and do laundry.
Sunday we'll be watching football and grocery shopping. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Happy Friday! I was texting Snoopy about the stupid game last night. However, being on the West Coast, I didn't have to lose sleep to see the pathetic game.
No long weekend for us, but I plan for it to be a lazy one. We haven't had one of those in a while.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Happy Friday! I refused to stay up to watch the Yankees blow it, but my friend was nice enough to text me at midnight to gloat (he's a huge Phillies fan).
I have off on Monday too, and cannot wait for the long weekend to start. We are not doing anything too fun, but I could definitely get a ton of work done.
That's the saddest emoticon I've ever seen. I guess we can be friends still. Ps. If you're ever closer to Western MA, I'd love to do lunch or drinks or something.
It's a bit premature for Phillies fans to be gloating! I obviously hope we win tonight, but if not I think you have every right to gloat right back.
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Today work was pretty sucky. My cold is getting worse and now I can't stop sneezing and blowing my nose and I can't really breathe through my nose. I really just tried to get the bare minimum done and put my 8 hours in.
I don't get a long weekend because I have to work Sunday, which is complete BS because I've already worked 3 full long holiday weekends this year and some other pharmacists have only worked 1.
I also found out today that the main pharmacist at the smaller hospital (who only works 3 days anyways) wants to leave to work here other day 3 days a week. She wants to stay on 1 day a week but I hope they don't let her. They need to get rid of her completely and hire someone full time out there. I really hope managment gets on top of this since they only have about 5 weeks.
