Crayon in the dryer....clothes ruined??

A pair of crayons must've been in a pocket and didn't make themselves known until I pulled the dried clothes from the dryer. Many of the clothes, including one of DH's favorite pants, have blobs of color. They've already been dried so I'm thinking they're a lost cause, but I thought I'd check in case anyone here knows of some trick worth trying.

If it makes a difference, the crayon is an off-brand from a local restaurant.

  • This has happened more times that I can remember at my house.  Oxy Clean saved the clothes, even after drying.  You can soak them for a while and you may have to wash them repeatedly.

  • Thank you!!

It was a load of dark clothes...would OxyClean cause any bleaching or other color issues?

  • I just found the most awesome tip for cleaning clothes with greasy type marks on them.  Pour a 1/2 cup of Simple Green into the prewash.  I threw my pile of stained clothes into the wash and about 75% came out clean.  I had washed them several times before without success.  I did spray with the simple green, let it sit, then add it to the wash..
  • I haven't tried it in crayons but Grandmas Stain remover has worked wonders on stains of all sorts on C's clothing I thought would never come out

This is awesome...I'm so trying this next week.  Several of DHs shirts have those spots on them.
