2nd Anniversary Follow-Up
So now that September is most definitely over, let's hear about the anniversaries we celebrated! Better later than never, right?
What did you do to celebrate?
What did you get your lovely husband as a gift?
What did he get you?
AW it up!

Re: 2nd Anniversary Follow-Up
To celebrate we just went out to dinner with Ellie (our sitter fell through.)
As a gift I took him shopping for new clothes.
He got me this beautiful emerald necklace:
I luurrrvee this necklace!
I feel like our anniversary was a bit uneventful. We were supposed to go to VT for the weekend, but I had been sick earlier in the week (sounds like something similar to what MB has) and it was supposed to rain all weekend. It turned out to be a beautiful weekend, and H ended up going golfing on the day we were going to do "fun" things together as Plan B (I encouraged him to go, but regretted it later). We are hoping to go to VT next weekend to make up for it.
We don't do gifts, just nice cards (I got 2!) and then we do something together (i.e. go to VT).
We did have a nice dinner at PF Changs on the actual evening, and I consumed lots of champagne, so all was not lost:)
To celebrate we went out to a nice dinner and 4-course dessert tasting in Boston while MIL watched Samma for us.
I gave him the b-pics I took, and shadowboxed them with the tshirt I wore to cover the whole "cotton" thing.
He gave me the Phoenix tshirt I wanted from ThinkGeek:
The Boo Book because I love that adorable dog:
and finally -- the Cupcake Pandora charm I've been wanting!

We went to an apple orchard and a winery during the day.
Later we went to dinner in DC (this is afterwards).
We didn't really do gifts either with all the baby expenses and home improvements we've done this summer. I did buy us 1000 ct. thread sheets though

What did you do to celebrate? We took a 2 week vacation to CA the end of August/beginning of September as our anniversary/honeymoon (didn't go on one)/10 year together present. But on the actual weekend/day, we didn't do much. Made dinner and took it easy
What did you get your lovely husband as a gift? The trip was our present but then we decided to get a new pup so the was another gift we wrapped into the anniversary lol
What did he get you? see above
We were supposed to be in CA for our anniversary before Jon's company asked him to move our trip to the end of the month. So we really had no plans for the whole weekend until the very last minute.
Our anniversary was Monday the 5th. On the Friday before we drove up to Bar Harbor for dinner with Jon's best friend. Then on the way back the next day we stopped in Portland to hang out, get some food and walk around. That night we really didn't do anything.
Sunday we cleaned our house and rented The Adjustment Bureau and a friend randomly stopped by so we had a big spaghetti & meatball dinner.
On our actual anniversary, my sister and her new boyfriend came over and we made dinner and hung out, played Catchphrase. Nothing too exciting.
I got him 5 shirts from the places we've traveled to (or referencing places we've traveled to) and a shipment of Corky's ribs from Memphis.
He got me...a trip to San Fran/Napa. And the resulting 3+ cases of wine that should be arriving any day now.
We flew home from a friend's wedding- exhausted.
The next weekend we "celebrated" by going to dinner- only K didn't make a reservation, so we ended up not being able to get a table anywhere nice and ended up at Macaroni Grill, next to a screaming baby (at 9pm- wtf).
He got a dorky HBO Game of Thrones shirt and an IOU for a quilt (the sewing machine foot I needed broke and I couldn't finish in time).
I got 2 tshirts
and an IOU for a duvet cover for a mutually agreed upon pattern.
Stand up for something you believe in.
There is nothing "dorky" about Game of Thrones.....

lol, there is something dorky about wearing a Game of Thrones tshirt with a 3 eyed crow.
Stand up for something you believe in.

On our actual anniversary I took the day off and we got some stuff done around the house that needed team work. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner and then for a round of miniature gold and bowling afterwards.
Two weekends ago we took a trip up to MI for a friends wedding and extended our trip through Tuesday. We did some sight-seeing, went to a couple wineries and saw the world's largest weathervane. We stayed at a cute inn right off of Lake Michigan that had a fireplace and a jacuzzi in with a view of the lake. A good time was had by all.
I got Jay a t-shirt from this website that he likes called Epic Mealtime that says "sauce boss" on it. Jay makes his own bbq sauce and is really proud of it. I also gave him an IOU for a new jersey of his choosing since there are like 8 that he wants right now.
I got a new Bears jersey as well (great minds, my friends, great minds). And apparently another gift is on it's way which I have not received yet so I'm psyched about the random gift I'll be receiving at some point in October!
We went out to dinner at this fancy steak place. It was delish. We are also going out to Sunday brunch at our wedding location next Sunday (first Sunday since before Labor Day that we're both not working).
We didn't get each other gifts, just cards. I also took his watch (wedding present) into the jeweler to get a new battery.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
1) We went to the Penn State vs. Alabama game two days before our anniversary. That was our official "celebration." We spent the night in State College and had a great time!
2) I got him a pair of cotton pajama bottoms for the winter.
3) We went to Target and I picked out items for the new house
Everything looks great! We can finally see the floor to the living room.
We went to the Melting Pot for dinner. The day before, we went for a picnic lunch, because that's our anniversary tradition.... meaning, we've done it twice.
We did cotton gifts. I got him a tshirt from a restaurant in Atlanta that he loves, another tshirt that says "jenius," and a pair of pj pants. He picked out clothes for me!
I got a long grey and white striped cardigan, a black and grey leopardish blazer, and an eggplant polka dotted scarf. He did really good.
We moved across the city. That's pretty much it.
I'm buying him an XBox 360, he gave me...an apartment.
Your anniversaries all sound way better.
We had plans to eat at our favorite french place here in the city, however, they called the day before reminding us to be on time that they had a 10pm seating (we were at 8:15) I was so put off that I cancelled the reservation and booked an 8:30 at another big fancy place here in cincy. We had a fabulous chefs dinner with wine pairings. It was yummy! No gifts this year. With Charlotte, a new car, a new house and Mark gone all the time, we agreed no gifts.
