Air mattress recs?

We're looking to buy one this weekend for our guest bedroom. There are a ton of options that look nice, but I was wondering if anyone is particulary happy with a certain brand. I want to make sure we get something comfortable that will last, but I don't want to spend $100+.

TIA!

Re: Air mattress recs?

  • We have this AeroBed and it's great.  We actually used it as our bed for about 4 months and it's still one of our guest beds.

But I think as long as you get something that's a little raised, like this, you'll be fine.  We have 2 airbeds, one is Aero and the other is Coleman (for camping) the Coleman one is ok, but pretty low to the ground.

I think both Wal-Mart and Target sell them.  Probably even JCPenneys or Macy's.

  • Costco had a good deal on a queen-sized aerobed a while ago... not sure if it's still there. also check Kohl's bc I got one (queen) last year for only $99 -- quite the deal.

  • Good ideas- I'd never thought of looking at Kohl's. I don't have a Costco membership, but do have one to BJ's, so I'll add that to my list of places to look. I figured a full size would be good. SSW, the first one you posted looks really nice, but I don't know if I can do $250. Though maybe I'm being cheap and need to adjust my budget!

  • We have a similar raised Aerobed and it is great.  We got ours at Kohls as well a few years back for $99.  We don't use it a ton, but it does come in handy.  EG, we blew it up before the hurricane and used it to sleep in the basement when our power was out and it was too hot to sleep upstairs (b/c obviously we weren't opening the windows during a hurricane!). It also folds nicely into a bag for travel.
  • I got a nice one for around $100 at Tuesday Morning a couple years ago.  I slept on it every night for about 3 or 4 months.  Ultimately, it got a hole, and I've been unable to patch it correctly...

I previously had an Aerobed, as well - it was the low-to-the-ground kind.  I slept on the Aerobed every night for like 2 years.  It held up fantastically.

We have an Aero bed from Costco. The Aero bed does cost more money, but it lasts so much longer than other brands. My brother had an another brand one and it sprung a leak the second time we used it. We've had our Aero bed for 2 years and brought it many places with us with no problems. In conclusion the more expensive airbeds are usually worth the money!
