Based on posts on here, I think we have pretty similar music tastes.  I'm loving Mumford & Sons and the Avett Brothers especially lately (DH always jokes that I'm a sucker for anything with a banjo in it) & have noticed more & more bluegrass popping up on my Pandora station created around them.  I know you've mentioned bluegrass in the past- do you have any recs as to who to check out? So far I'm loving most everything, but just don't really know where to start.  Thanks!! :)

Also, the photos of Sawyer with the apples on your fb are absolutely adorable!!!

Re: *EmmaBrooke*

  • LOL did you see my page to EmmaBrooke and Jennrs earlier this week about Avett Brothers? http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/58750166.aspx

I discovered them this week too - and then someone at work suggested Mumford.  So now I have quite a few songs I'm enjoying :)

  • Yay!  I think bluegrass is some of the happiest music ever made, but it kind of gets a bad rap for it's "backwoods" kind of rep.  So excited whenever someone else discovers (and loves) it.  Anyway, I listen to a lot of local or independent bands, so I'm not sure how easy it will be to find all of this stuff, but a good starting place would be The Biscuit Burners.  I love them, and they're a national band, so I know you'll find them.  Also John Hartford, Steep Canyon Rangers, Nickel Creek.  Beyond that, look into The McKrells, Hickory Project, The Claire Lynch Band... I could go on and on with this list, but they might be harder to find.  I think I've seen all of them in my Pandora Biscuit Burners station, though.

And thanks on the photos.  I just wish I could get him to smile more when the camera is out... Haha!

  • Naylon- somehow I totally missed that post!  So glad you're loving them too :)  They're my favorite Pandora station.

Emma- Thank you so much for the recommendations.... I'll definitely start with those & see where it leads me!  And I completely agree on it being some of the happiest music.  I always tell DH that it's "sunny day driving" music :)
