How's it going over there?  I know he hasn't been laid off, but has YH been job hunting?  I noticed on facebook that you're an audiologist, so your career seems more mobile than many.  (PS cool job - I was trying to convince DH to go into otolaryngology, but it looks like he's going with ortho. boo.).

Anyway, we were talking about YH's company in class on Tuesday (your comment on bunny's wall turned up on my newsfeed), and it really looks grim.  Hopefully they can restructure successfully and turn things around, but with the competition from bargain retailers like Wal-Mart, there might not be a place for it in the marketplace anymore. Huh?

Anyway, just wanted to send positive restructuring vibes your way (and that YH's job isn't restructured away).  Or at least good job hunting vibes in case he feels the ship is sinking and wants to bail.  (((Mr&MrstlcS)))

  • thanks Smile  Yeah, there's no shortage of jobs for me if I do have to go back.

This has been a long time coming for DH.  It's been dinner conversation for longer than we've been married (over 2 years).  He's extremely accomplished in his field, and has a skill set that any employer would be lucky to have.  Part of the problem is that he's so young... 20 or so years younger than most of the people in similar positions to him, so he gets overlooked quite a bit, I think.  He's out networking, though, and I think he'll find something new before long. Smile  We're optimistic.

  • Oh good!  The age thing can be a hurdle or a benefit.  If a company believes he'll be with them for the long-haul, it's definitely a plus.  Turnover sucks. :)
