I know I have talked about my job before and all the drama that has taken place this year with my boss. She was out on medical leave for 3 months and came back acting like nothing happened and after telling our head supervisor that she is ready to come back and write me up for anything and everything she can. Which I am still trying to figure this out since I was the one who did her job while she was gone along with my own job and supervising 4 student employees. I did have a little help but not much. My boss is on performance evaluation which she was aware of before she went out on leave so if she messes up on anything she could be fired.
Well today I find out the job I applied for and turned down the interview for back when my boss left is open again. I am seriously thinking about applying again becuase I am 85% sure I can get it. I would not be taking much if any cut in pay and it is like 5 minutes from my house compared to 30-35 mins now. The other reasons I am thinking about applying for it is because I know that I am not happy at my current job and do not want to be doing the rest of my life and if my boss does get canned they already have a replacement picked out and its not me (the one who took the leading roll while she was gone) and if she just happens to get demoted she will still be my boss just have different job duties. I feel like I have been totally underappreciated at my current job and the job I may apply for is in a totally different field which I am ready for something different.
What would you all do??
Re: Need some advice-concerning work
You won't lose anything by applying! So I say go for it and apply. If you get offered the job, then start weighing the pros and cons.
