XP: Stroller opinions?

We are looking for an umbrella style stroller and want opinions. It will be everyday use as well as for an upcoming trip to NYC. I want something that can recline for naps on the go (I hate the head slump). We are debating between 2. The Chicco Liteway and the Maclaren Triumph.

Chicco $110 (with coupon from BRU):

Maclaren $170 (won't accept my 20% coupon):

Help me decide! Big Smile

p.s. I checked the Gear board, but it seems like everything is for young babies.

  • Are you tall?  I hated Maclarens and Chiccos b/c their umbrella versions didn't give enough stride room.  I have a Joovy and LOVE it.  Sometimes Joovys are more pricey, but totally worth it.  We've flown with it and beat it to hell and it has held up really well.

I like to consider 5'5 tall Cool. DH is 5'11, so neither of us really fit in the "tall" category.

  • I have the Chicco stroller and it's pretty sturdy.  Since I have owned it we have flown 15 times and it's held up great with all that handling.......oh and since I live in the middle of nowhere I have never had a direct flight, so really that's like 30 flights if you add in all those connections, LOL.

I am thinking of purchasing another since it doesn't turn as great as it once use to.  But I can't fault the quality, I have really put that stroller through the ringer with all the travel.

  • I think $170 is outrageous for an umbrella stroller, so I'd say go with the cheaper one : )
