Latest minibini update

Minibini himself is totally fine. Except he keeps running away from the fetal monitor and making the nurse chase him around. As for me I started having more cramping/contractions and now I'm 4cm dilated, 70% effaced and baby is at -1 station (not that I'm real familiar with what all that means). The doc said after 34 weeks they don't try to stop the labor so if I have him today I have him. But it's pretty scary.

  • Good luck!!  Although scary, the doctors know what is best.  Try to relax and stay comfortable.  Vibes that all goes well.

  • Good luck!

Is your H or Mom with you now?

  • Good luck! Usually if you are 4cm dilated then you are considered to be in active labour.

Is your H or Mom with you now?

Nope, just me for now. My mom had to go take H to work since I had the car when all this happened. Now she's resting at home (a 15 min walk away) since she was up most of the night with this whole situation. H is at work but now that things are moving he's asking to leave early. He didn't want to skip work (new job and all) if they were just gonna send me home (like last time I had bleeding at 29 weeks) but that's not what appears to be happening.
  • Glad to know your mom is close by, I hope your H can get out early.

Keep us updated on your progress! It sounds like you are in really good hands. So exciting!

  • Wow, that's a surprise. Good luck and I'm sending vibes for a smooth delivery and a healthy minibini.

  • The very good news is that Minibini is healthy, and that you're in the best place you can be right now.  Lots of vibes headed your way and Minibini's way!  I can imagine its hard, but try to relax, you don't have to worry for the moment about getting yourself to the hospital, and I'm sure the doctors and nurses are going to keep good watch over you two!

Yep, still here. It's so much nicer than Salem! Latest is that I'm still 4cm and we are all just...waiting. I have an allergy to most general anesthesias so I'm supposed to have an epidural as soon as it's clear I'm going to have the baby, in case I need an emergency c-section. They were all ready to give me the epidural but they're going to see if I dilate more first.

MGH is one of the best hospitals to be in. The staff there are so nice. I remember you telling us about your allergy. That is scary to think about. I hope things all go well for you!

  • Quint came at 2 days shy of 35 weeks (so technically he was 34 weeks but I just said 35 weeks) anyway, he was fine.  He had to stay in the nursery (not NICU, just nursery) for a few extra days because he couldn't maintain his temperature so they kept him in a little minibed with extra lighting.  But everything was fine so I'm sure minibini will be too!

  • lots of healthy baby vibes! keep us updated
