Newbie: Zig-zag stitch or pinking shears?
I'm new to sewing. As in, tonight I pulled the new machine out of its box, learned what a bobbin is, threaded the bobbin and upper thread, and a million other things. (I'm ridiculously excited which explains why I'm sewing at 130am. lol)
When I watched the provided dvd about doing a blind hem, it said to either use pinking shears or a zig-zag stitch to the unfinished edge. After some research, I figured out the purpose of pinking shears, but not when they are more useful. I can guess that it's quicker but does the fabric type/use help you decide? Or something else? TIA!
