We are in the midst of remodeling our kitchen and I don't know if my house will be ready for a ton of guests mid-November when Ava's birthday comes around. I was thinking maybe it would be better to do something offsite but it seems like it would be pretty expensive to go to Chuck E Cheese or Pump it Up.. any other less expensive options??

I don't know about costs, but Triad in Ankeny hosts b-day parties. It's a gymnastics gym but there are lots of other jumping, swinging, etc. activities. Cohen had a blast. There's also Playground for Kids (also in Ankeny) and Monkey Joe's in WDM. I'm guessing they're all similar in price to Pump it Up.
FWIW, we hosted Cohen's 4th bday party at a park, hoping to save some money, but it still ended up being costly. I think it's tough pulling off a nice party on a budget. It's worth it though, right?
