OMG DH.... (rant)

.....you CANNOT bumble around the house like a bull in a china shop 5 mins after Jane goes down for a nap.  You also, most certainly can't go upstairs to put something away.  She isn't asleep yet............and now she never will.

GAH!  When will you learn????

Re: OMG DH.... (rant)

  • That's when you tell him she's his for the day and leave. Or, at least that's what I do when H doesn't respect the nap.
  • this is a nightly occurance--I will be rocking her and she will be almost asleep and he will play something on his phone or say Elle and of course she'll pop up--at that point I deposit her with him and go to bed--but seriously they never learn

She started thumping around and saying "Mama..." and he goes "wow, 20 mins, that wasn't a good nap".  I just turned to him and was like "shesawakebecausewentupstairsandhavebeenmakingnoiseforthelast20minsshutup".   Or something like that.  I think my head was spinning. He's all "I didn't know..." and I'm like only, you did.  Because this has happened before and we've had the same chat.  I'm not sitting on the couch because I'm lazy, I'm sitting here being QUIET until she's asleep and then I'll shower/do dishes/clean/whatever.

I wish I could give her to him for the day but Janie and I are off soon to meet Katie and Jack!!

  • I think your husband needs to come spend the weekend with my husband and both our kids, alone.  Mine is the same way.  Just yesterday, he was in the upstairs bathroom not 5 minutes after Sawyer laid down for his nap, slamming cupboards around & hollering to me about what kind of soap I bought.  Yeah, that nap lasted all of 5 minutes, and I got to deal with the aftermath.  I think it's perhaps time they learn the hard way... Ha!

  • Wow, sounds just like our house too.  I'm trying to get him to sleep and DH is slamming cupboard, clinking dishes, and making all sorts of noise.  Then I tell him to be quiet and he looks at me like I'm being a biitch.  Ugh, I want to strangle him when he does that!!
