Pink stains on silicone in the bathtub
What is it and what's the best way to get rid of it and stay rid of it?
Re: Pink stains on silicone in the bathtub
What is it? The beginning of mildew/mold.
Best way to get rid of it? Use any bathroom cleaner; conventional, natural or homemade.
Stay rid of it? Clean more often. Some bathrooms are just more prone to mildew growth. You just have to clean more if you have a prone bathroom. Also, make sure you run the vent fan while the shower is running and for a few minutes afterward.

Huh, pink mildew/mold. Who knew.
I think I've had a bit of pink in any shower I've ever had for my whole life. I always thought it was a rust or a soap build up thing.
We have that. a lot of it. Its called water mold here. Where ever there is water, it's there. I cannot even use a britta water filter to set in the frig because it gets water mold. We had it in the pool, too, when we used another sanitization system, but since we switched to chlorine we have not had to deal with it.
What pps said about bleach should do the job. Also try to keep that area dry.
BTW, we have very soft water.
