My first shipment from japan has arrived! ?10 days ahead of schedule. ?I can finally get my cooking stuff. ?I still won't have a bed for awhile, and I won't have furniture until I but it, but at least I can cook. ?
And my ski clothes are in that shipment. ?Woohoo! ?My skis will be ready on the same day my clothes and poles and boots get here. ?I can't tell you how happy this makes me.
I was already in a good mood b/c H was able to call me today. ?Even though we got disconnected about 10 times in our conversation, it was still good to talk. ?He'd sent me an email about how he was having a bad day, was scared about "us" but didn't elaborate. ?So I was really glad we got to talk and settle some of our fears.?
Re: NER yippee
I've been in my apt for over a month now with an air mattress, a kitchen table, and 2 plates I picked up at target plus the clothes that fit in 2 suitcases (a surprsing amount actually). ?I do have a donated jacket b/c the first weekend I was here was colder than it's been since. ?I didn't think I'd need my winter coats until, well, winter.
As of tomorrow, my entire kitchen will be here. ?Well, the half that I took. ?The other half is in Japan. ?But I took the good half
?A coffee maker! ?Heaven. ?I'm a simple woman really.
it's amazing the impact the little things in life can have
Oh, a fully functioning kitchen is not a little thing! ?Honestly, that's more important to me than getting my bed. ?I can deal with back pain; I can't deal with any more frozen meals. ?Thankfully I do live in a city with awesome take out restaurants, so that's probably why I haven't complained more.?
Awesome!
I am sure I missed - do you have an apt in Denver? I wasn't sure if you got a place or were staying with friends.
I'm glad you got your stuff. Moving continents is so frustrating, and having a non-functional kitchen is my worst nightmare come to life.
I am confident things will work out with you guys despite the distance. I truly believe that honesty about these kinds of challenges is 75% of the battle.
