I've been wanting to learn how to sew for years and having a child has made me want to learn even more. I'm not sure where to start though with purchasing a sewing machine (my MIL is going to teach me). Are there any particular models/types you recommend? Anything to stay away from? Any other suggestions? TIA!!!
Re: Sewing Machine Question
I started taking a Sewing Class last Friday and the lady teaching the class has been sewing for well over 25 years. She said there are two models to stay away from EuroPro and Shark. She said they will work for tiny projects but seize working after a month or so. If you pay under $150, chances are it won't work for very long.
I myself have a Brother machine ( very old one 1950's) and am going out to by a new Brother in a few weeks. We are learning to sew on a Brother machine and I really it so far.
She gave us some other tips on threads, needles etc.. let me know if you want to know more
