Dumb Kardashian quesetion
DH asked me this and I have no idea - How did the Kardashians get rich/become well known enough to be worth "keeping up" with? I get why they have money now but what did they do before the show?

yep - father was OJ lawyer = rich.
Kim had a sex tape = famous
Like PP said, a lot of the initial publicity was from the dad being a trial lawyer for OJ. Then there was a snow ball effect with these events:
The mom married Bruce Jenner (pretty famous olympian), The Hills made Brody Jenner kind of famous (Bruce's son), Kim hangs out with Paris Hilton and other Hollywood socialites, and then the big one--- Kim makes a sex tape with Ray J.
