Anyone have a plan they are particularly fond of?

  • That's all I need.  I just hate Humana's dental plan I'm on now.  I think I may just graduate to their PPO style plan.  I'm on the HMO kind now where you have to request a doctor, be on their list for 30 days and THEN get an appt.  What if you don't like that doc?  Then you're fcked for 30 days until you find a new one.

Oh no, why do you hate Humana? That's the plan I'm on now too. Is it just the PPO part you don't like?

  • Yes, the HMO style is killing me with the silly waiting terms, etc.  Also, the HMO mostly accepted only by doctors in large offices - think "Coast Dental."  I'd rather go to a small family practice.  If I can find a good one, I want to go to a dentist forever and ever amen.  You're not going to get that experience in a chain dental office.

Ok, I'm not on the PPO I'm on the traditional (whatever they call it) so I was able to keep my same dentist, luckily!

  • We have BCBS with PPO. I like it. My H goes to a dentist we hate for now,(long story)  but I go to the dentist I did when I was growing up.
  • Mutual of Omaha, PPO. Before that I had Principal PPO. I've liked both. I actually really dislike my dentist...
